335i boost lag after shift

Hey my 2008 335i 6spd manual has been taking longer than usual to build boost after I shift , I recently installed a crappy knock off BOV and could that be the issue? There’s no build leaks but I don’t remember having to wait 2.5 seconds after each shift to start moving again

Are you tuned or stock? A 3rd gear log would be helpful.
Could be a vacuum leak, boost leak (bov not closing properly), boost solenoids etc.

Log from 2.5k rpm to 6k rpm in 3rd gear. Traction control must be off also.

The valve itself has a hole running through it and must be lined up with the hose connected to it (easy to end up misaligned once tightened). Amazingly many of the u-tube videos don't mention this.
