Toward the end he actually shows how big the new machined passage is from the manifold through to the wastegate. Seriously impressive compared to any of the options I have seen up this point from a flow perspective.
Agreed on the single though. If I could do it all over again, I'd get a SpeedTech kit. Great manifold paired with a tested and true turbo by the company of your choice. |

Guys,
My front OEM turbo took a dump and I bought the VIV stainless 19T turbos which are being installed as we speak. To keep the community informed, I will post my findings here if permitted (this is a DAW thread), so OP, please see if appropriate. In any case, i suspect that these turbo's all come from the same build house so.... Last edited by hamitaw; 10-28-2021 at 10:09 AM.. Reason: pics added |

Update: no update............
Just to update the crowd following this:
Car was on the lift to start the swap, then I realized my downpipes were OEM decatted, while I understood it already had aftermarkets put in by PO. No biggie, might have missed that when buying the car 2 yrs ago, but it didnt make sense to start the swap and do DP's later on. So I bought 2nd hand VRSF (@jonerik26, thx man!) and they just arrived (Im in South America). So bringing the car later this PM to my tech and having it all bolted in. Hopefully will get it back this weekend and start the custom mapping. Question (also sent to my tuner, but no response yet): would I need supplemental fueling to get all out of these puppies? I currently have Snow stage 2.5 meth in the charge pipe, which I spray 50/50 for just cooling. |

That’s an option but I don’t like keeping tabs on a second tank and depending on a second pump.
I would much rather do PI from the lp fuel line or do overdrive hpfp. Seems less headache, but then I’m just injecting (the same) extra fuel. Might not need that on pump gas. But yeah, I’ve decided in running the turbos in, getting tune dialed and then see what it would need for road use and the occasional drag event. My meth tank has a fuel level sensor. It goes on well before it runs dry and takes all of 1 minute to fill up. Meth gives you so much more headroom over pump.

I would guess they'll make more power considering the turbine housings and manifolds are larger.

I am surprised I have gotten two solid seasons of racing out of my DAW 19T's. Yep, thanks!

I beat on them pretty hard. Between 1/2 mile and 1/4 miles races, then are at 25psi a lot of the time.
I do make sure the oil is up to temp and I change it often but for the price I did not expect to get much out of them.

I would switch to Direct port meth with an aftermarket manifold but I decided to go full E85 and I will keep the meth injection in the CP just because why not. A meth plate works fine mind you, I just prefer a tapered metal log style intake manifold.

Update: had several revisions on my pump gas tune (shitty 89 oct) and made 434hp and 373 ft lbs on 21psi on these turbos (edit: actually 19 peak looking at the log).
Meth injection installed, but did not activate it during runs, only plan on using it as a cooler. I requested a conservative tune because of shitty inconsistent gas here and temps roaring into 30C during the day. Torque build up is also quite conservative, so no instant boost on low rpms, saving rods etc. I also have a racegas (102oct) tune booked, so that will be my kill map for the 1/4 mile. It seems these snails will need PI or aux fueling to get the most out of them, but until now, I'm happy (and not breaking other stuff). Awaiting green light from my tuner to post up logs and dyno sheets (I'm not there to start keyboard wars). Dragy times to follow...... Last edited by hamitaw; 01-21-2022 at 12:18 PM.. This is my current setup. Direct Port E85 with a single 630 ml/min nozzle in the charge pipe with some bs boost juice. It likes the extra intake cooling and it's just enough for intake cooling.
