Also, if your codes were cleared right before you go in for smog, they won't run the test. There is a minimum number of miles or engine hours that have to be stored before you can complete the test.

When I was catless, a few places refused right away due to the smell. After i put the stock cats back in my car passed with no issues.

I currently have
Vanguard Exhaust
Vishnu Intake
Vishnu Meth kit
HPF intercooler kit
and procede 2.5
I put the map back to 0 and drive around for about 100 miles before i went back in for the smog.

I'm about to go in for the first time - bone stock. Plan to start modding afterward.

From what I've heard, FMIC is OK if it uses the stock connections (because they are going to look at it through the hood) and it looks reasonably close to the stock one. Cat-back exhaust is OK.

Intake is NOT OK unless it's one of those super-expensive CARB approved ones (Dinan is the only one that comes to mind). I don't see how you could pass with catless downpipes installed. The pre-cat can be seen through the hood and you'd get SES light unless you have a "fix" which I'm guessing could be detected.

If you need to clear codes prior to testing, you need to do at least two complete drive cycles from a cold engine, and spend some time between 50-60 mph in order to re-set the readiness monitors.

I have Cobb set to map 0 and deleted all code last week. i've driven about 80 miles since then. i just checked now, i still have code P2FA3, which is common with cobb installed. Can I go to smog with P2FA3 code still there?

If there is no check engine light on the dash then you are fine to go in.

But since you have downpipes you need the DP fix in order for the CEL to be off and keep your the OBD2 in readiness since the o2 sensors will keep throwing a code without cats or a DP fix.
I have a question on where you got your secondary cats deleted, I'm from San Diego and can't find anyone to do it !

Vanguard exhaust is a downpipe back exhaust and does not have secondary cats.

Now when you guys say visual, do they lift your car up? Or is it just how it stands? If so ima slam my car to the floor lol
so with the secondarys removed, can you still pass?

It really is. You can read up all you want about how to please a woman, you can look at all the diagrams in the world, but just like the clitoris, you won't know what the hell an apex is before you actually find it.

Yes you will pass without secondaries if your primary cats are in place still. Otherwise find a lazy tech that doesn't know your car well so he doesnt look very closely for the primaries.

When they do a visual inspection they'll inspect the engine bay with a flash light with the car pulled into their shop. Smog techs will not lift the car up for a visual inspection. I don't have an answer regarding your secondary cats question.

In my case, i failed visual because of active's chargepipe/bov. good thing i have free retest. Just place back your stock parts during smog. And no, they did not raise my car and inspect under, just engine bay inspection.

Your engine bay has to look stock from the top to pass visual inspection.
