Really because I have been searching all morning and nothing. From what I can tell its a scavenger air line that goes to the fuel tank but I don't know for sure. Even on realoem its not that straight forward. Any input?

The PNP version of the RB External PCV (on website) options uses a throttle body adapter that shares the vacuum reference with the OE EVAP port on the throttle body.

The NON-PNP version of the RB External PCV (not on website) options are identical however it swaps out the throttle body adapter for a custom bung (see picture) that can be tapped into the plastic intake manifold via 1/8" NPT for a dedicated vacuum reference.

Both will perform the same however the latter is just a bit harder to install in exchange for being much cheaper... and IMO a bit cleaner of an install when said and done.

Here are the costs on the RB External PCV Kit (NON-PNP) Options:

Option A (Recommended)- Cost $160
Custom RB Vacuum Reference Nipple with 1/8" NPT Thread
Custom RB External PCV Valve adaptation (with new PCV Valve and grommet)
Custom RB Mishimoto bung interface adapters (Qty 2)
10-32 Head plugs (Qty 6)
Earls Pro-Lite 350 -6AN (~3.3ft)
Constant-Tension Spring-Band Hose Clamps (Qty 4)

Option B- Cost $130
Custom RB Vacuum Reference Nipple with 1/8" NPT Thread
Custom RB External PCV Valve adaptation (with new PCV Valve and grommet)
Custom RB Mishimoto bung interface adapters (Qty 2)
10-32 Head plugs (Qty 6)
Constant-Tension Spring-Band Hose Clamps (Qty 4)

Option C- Cost $100
Custom RB Vacuum Reference Nipple with 1/8" NPT Thread
Custom RB External PCV Valve adaptation (with new PCV Valve and grommet)
10-32 Head plugs (Qty 6)

I've got the PNP on one of our cars. Works very well and was easy to install.

UK install

After buying this kit in April I finally had my valves walnut blasted last week and fitted this kit last night! was a bit of a tight fit with all the OEM filter box etc there, but seems to fit ok.

Noticed that I have a VCG leak so I will look into tapping the vacuum ports at the same time.

Nice post! Where does one find a bracket like that? I've yet to install mine...

+1 that bracket looks very nice indeed.

There are over a couple hundred of these kits out there so there is certainly a market. We have a strut mount one in the pipeline but this one looks great too. Maybe worth your while to offer them up for sale!

Thanks,
Rob

My DIY bracket

Not logged on for a while! I made this bracket myself! The rings are from Amazon UK:www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015BEN5J2

The bolts and screws from a hardware store and the silver metal rectangular bracket was from a curtain holder wall bracket would you believe

Had to drill a couple of holes to fit it all together. The rubber i used to apply to the strut brace was also from Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OTCTVQY

I intend to purchase the drain kit at some point for ease of draining the oil. Anyone had any experience of this? MMBCC-DRAIN-02
www.mishimoto.co.uk/compact-baffled-oil-catch-can-petcock-drain-kit.html

Anyway I have emptied my catch can twice at 1000 miles each. It's working a treat and with use over winter in -5 degrees etc still works fine and no brown water residue either! I could probably leave emptying until 1.5k miles or 2k.

Nice and neat bracket kmx!!

I'd love a bracket like that vs my strut mount now where I'm having to remove the aft intake filter to gain access.

You've had such success with these, it seems like it's running itself...I still wish you'd help myself and others with your knowledge to better develop a dual can setup for us N63/S63 powered owners. I've home rigged a setup but with my little understanding of it all, I believe it's like the BMS setup where it's only pulling under boost, leaving much to desired.

Rob, doesn’t a low flowing filtered catch can (like the Mishimoto) also adjust the vacuum flow as well? My concern is that the vacuum will be lowered, leading to insufficient crankcase evacuation.. Any idea how much vacuum external PCV pulls compared to stock?

What do you mean performance gain?

"It offers a performance gain, less oil consumption, less smoking, a reliable OEM toyota PCV valve..."

> what kind of performance gain are you speaking of here in that statement?
HP? Torque? Throttle Response? Stability under high boost? etc...

Thanks,

VT

Can anyone who's been running one of these for a few years please comment on their long term experience? How much oil are you catching? Has it reduced the need to walnut blast? Have you seen any reduction in oil consumption? Are any of the gains sustained for long term?
