EDIT: now that I've thought about it, lots of scammy and predatory tactics have been used throughout my years using Matt. Still owes me nearly $850, and hes for 4 months. Stay away.

Does FCP have a warehouse somewhere in northern jersey? I suspect another supplier other than fcp is giving him the warranty, because he gets parts for me same day, that he most definitely does not just have on hand.

Plus, I already spent the money on all these parts. Noone's making anything off of me bringing back my oil and filters, so if he's still in business, I'll still use him as a parts supplier. I'm doing all my own work nowadays, and convenience of getting parts I need the same day, right on my way home from work, trumps pretty much anything.

As far as people's crappy experiences, that sucks, and I understand people not using him for services if they've had those experiences. I really do. The moment I have one, I'd drop him for good too. But it's hard to give up the only well priced same day parts supplier I have, when I only have 2 hours each night to work on my car, and missing 2-4 nights of working on it while waiting for a part that has to ship to my door really puts me behind.

After hearing about all these stories, I would totally hesitate to get any big job done. But I also would swap my own turbos if I needed to at this point, so it's not really a concern of mine.

Sad to see this type of stuff, not sure what's in it for him to be out of business but he wouldn't be the first and wont be the last.

That said, FCP may have some items from orders ship from distributors in different areas of the country but their warehouse and office is in CT.

good luck on any future warranties! I wouldn't be surprised there will be some excuse not to cover it based on his reputation! Plus if he shop closes for whatever reasons you will no longer have the warranty. If warranty is something that is important to people just paid a little extra from FCP. FCP isn't going anywhere.

I know FCP drop ships from suppliers, some in PA for not as common items. Since they're located in CT, it takes about two days for product delivery.

The issue I see is what happens when these losers/thieves/assclowns go out of business, then your parts have zero warranty and you'd have to purchase them all over again. Other than that, if this is what works for you then kudos. Personally, I always disconnect myself from these kinds of associations.

As a suggestion, you can plan out your maintenance ahead of time so the parts you order will be at your doorsteps when you most anticipate it. I also do my own work, have my own two post lift, and maintained my 2009 E90 M3 from 60k miles to 178k before I sold it and moved on to the F80. It's well documented in my maintenance thread.

There is plenty of people out there now who have been screwed by Matt and Elyse. So we are all sharing our experience now and hopefully eveything will fall into place.

NJ Consumer affairs is begining to take notice, Pompton Lakes PD will start to get more interested and hopefully this shop gets shut down.

Because right not, people are still out thousands of dollars and this guy is still in business thinking he can walk free.

I just reviewed all my receipts from Matt's shop. Here is a prime example of Matt's "up sell" and repair work.

1) car had 150K miles and recommended I checked the throttle bodies due to mileage. Did not do the repair .. Fast forward the car now has 206k miles and I have no issues with the throttle bodies.

2) 10/7/2017 156,838 Oil Level Sensor Oil Level Sensor and Oil Change. He charge me $171 for the Oil Level Sensor and $50 for an oil change.

Fast forward on 2/1/2019 at 201K miles I had to change the Oil Level Sensor again. Maybe I am wrong but I wouldn't expect an oil sensor to go bad within a year and half. I can only guess either the sensor wasn't bad/never replaced or it was replaced with a used sensor. The one I pulled out looked original to the car.

3) 3/24/2018 171,423 Trans Filter/Fluid Trans/Filter/Filter/Gasket - Within two weeks the tranny failed. I had to change the internal modular that cost $1,000. Maybe it was coincidental?

Could be coincidental, or could be due to the fact that we all chose ZNM. Clearly they DNGAF about your car.

The fact that there are at least 10+ people who have been having problems with their cars after ZNM servicing them...

$50 for an oil change? Doubt it was synthetic. As for the trans, was the fluid changed before? If not, then perhaps the flush moved ‘particles’ from a place in the trans that did no harm to a place it did. Or, the tech fubar’d it during the fluid change.

Well he charged me $171 for oil sensor that didn't needed to be changed. I actually just changed it again last week. Never heard of oil sensor going bad within a year. So actually the oil change came out to $225! One expensive oil change!

As for the tranny flush maybe it was a combination of both!

If you have been affected by ZNM in any way. Please please please fill this out.

It is imperative that the country knows what is going on in their backyard. I have been contacted by an investigator already and it looks like they are looking to escalate this matter.

Just going to bump this up for visibility. Hopefully it saves someone from wasting money for no reason. Btw looks like they've been inflating their own google reviews by creating new accounts and leaving 5 star reviews.
