LOL.

anyway, it's an hour drive to the dealer for me, so I'll be rolling a shiny new loaner car for a friday night.
Your SA is an idiot. From pulling into the service area, it took the dealer in Lynchburg, VA 2.5 and I was heading home.

Yeah I took mine in and got airbag, blower motor and PCV done in about 3hours. But they were dicks and didn't give me a rental and washed the car even though I asked then not to...

Generally, (even though I have two BMWs) if the repairs are going to take under 4 hours my SA will ask if I need a ride somewhere. If it's over 4 hours, they will offer me a loaner.

welp, turns out I got fucked.

tech didn't install my serpentine belt properly, ate a rib off of it and the alternator ingested the material.
I picked the car up saturday, drove home in a blizzard and then noticed the noise the next morning when I started it to clean up my driveway.
Called sunday at 11am. No call back monday. Called monday at noon. No call back yesterday, or as of right now (11AM tues).

So here I am, with my freshly serviced e91 that I can't drive because it needs a new belt.
Oh, and I got to put the belt back on properly in 0* weather outside. So that was fun.

So I guess thus far my recall experience is not going well, and I am not pleased by the complete lack of fucks from the SA and dealer.

I will withold the dealer name until I give them a chance to deal with their mistake. I have documented everything with videos and photos. So when this gets escalated to BMWNA, I expect my junk to get fixed.
If it goes that route, I'll be sure to defame the dealer via every avenue available on the internets.

what I found when I popped the hood:

That's my >40K mile belt.

I got the recall done, took them maybe 3 hours and they didn't try to sell me anything else. They loaned me a 740i M-Sport for the day, so I was in no hurry to get back.

so I called the dealer again, and again my SA was busy, so I told them I've been without my car for 2 days and I needed to speak with the GM.

2 hours later and they just dropped off an x3 in my driveway and took my e91 back to the dealer.
It's 55 miles from here to there.

I've been assured that they will replace the drive belt, and remove the alternator and inspect it.

so my e91 is on it's way back.
I'm told they replaced the belt, removed the alternator and tested it, and charged the battery.

I assume the low charge was from driving it with the belt not right, and then it sitting in 0* weather for two days.

I took my 335i. The blower motor wiring was replaced. Only that service was done. Dealership didn't inspect my car or gave me any recommendations on what to replace. Would of been nice to get a second opinion on some stuff.

Well I guess in the end they kind of did the right thing....

Funny I took my car to them for a new battery and to check the oil filter gasket leak (which I declined) and they did the blower motor recall work unknowingly to me at the time of drop off. I only saw the work detail (free of course) as a line on my final bill.

Too bad the premature leaky gaskets don't have a recall!

A) Battery is weak. 500 to replace.
B) Starter is going out. 1300 to replace.
C) Oil filter housing gasket is leaking. 1500 dollars to replace.

Yipes! When the guy first called me he mentioned a noise coming from the transmission. That it was the throw out bearing. He put me on speakerphone as he had his tech there to explain things. I told them that I have a single mass flywheel as my car is high hp. After a brief chat with his tech, he said that he understood. I didn't list that above as the replacement price was not listed on my bill. And now the rest. The OFG was changed out last year, as was the battery. He had said that there was a code for the battery. Hmm, funny how I don't see it on my MHD when I last connected. Two other glaring things is that when they connected to see codes they should have seen my tune and known that I had some knowledge. The Service Indication on the dash that says that I am due to change the brake fluid was not mentioned. Did they really connect to the car?

A thing of note was that they have a 1000 dollar dealer rebate going on. I could have subsidised several with this one visit. Or do they jack up the repair bill in order to scare people into another car? Regardless, even if these things were needed, the prices are way out of line. A 150 dollar battery takes 30 minutes tops to change out. I paid less to have Pure 2 installed at my fave shop. The OFHG maybe 2.5 hours. 1300 for a starter? Assuming it is like 200 bucks, that would be 7 + hours to do. Sheesh, these guys must bill 20 + hours in an 8 hour day. I said my piece, and feel better now.

Schomp BMW in Denver kept my car for 2 days and someone hit it. They refused to show me the security camera. I filed a complain with BMWUSA, but getting no responses. Help please

I would actually give them credit for this. Glad it worked out at the end.

At least they didn't lean on you upper radiator hose. A few of us caught that wrath.

Does anyone think this is procedure is more brokanic than what we put in our DIYs?

Be grateful, half of it is booking time bullshit anyway.

Your insurance company has lawyers on hand that can handle this. They will advise if the police should be involved.

I wouldn't.

2 business days of not responding to a customer that's stated they can't use their car is unacceptable.

and I don't trust that the alternator hasn't been damaged, it's just working for right now. but did ingesting a bunch of rubber shorten it's service life? probably.

and had I discovered a coolant leak I would have made them put a radiator in it.

Homie don't play games.

do agree that I take more care when servicing the car than any shop monkey is going to, and that's just a fact for every car I've ever owned.
I stopped taking my junk to other's for service a long, long time ago.

If BMW would just give me the recall parts I'd rather just install them myself.

it happened all the way back in mid November. I've been trying to work with them out of court. First they scheduled me with the GM, then cancelled later. Now they're not responding at all.

One of the service managers said they did not do it without even stepping outside to inspect the damage.

you've waited far too long.

they don't have the video anymore.

you should have contacted your insurance and police when you picked up the car and noted the damage and they refused to cooperate.

If you're even a little handy mechanically its not a difficult DIY.
I've done my spark plugs and do all the oil changes so, probably will just wait until it starts leaking and do it.

I finally got my blower motor wiring replaced on 2008 335xi. . But the air does not blow hard anymore. It doesn't blow any faster after middle point setting. I know I have a battery issue or IBS problem because clock and trip is always reset. Could the battery problem affect the blower motor speed? I will check my air filter but doubt it's that. Did BMW improperly wire the blower motor?

1500 for ofhg LOL

They quoted me 1000 for vcg. The stealership doesn't like me very much I don't think. They see me walking out with boxes of fluid, the only thing I buy that's genuine BMW
