Sold my E90, what to buy now?

Just sold my E90 LCI , this has been my second E90 and I just love the way how they drove.

Now with a baby on the way we need something else. The problem is I dont like any of the current models to take a decission.

F30 too cheap materials and poor handling
F36 same as F30
F10 drives like a yacht and the reliability seems to be a nightmare reading opinnions from owners

Other models are either too small (1 and 2 series) or too big and expensive (6 and 7 series)

I am thinking too buy a new Tesla Model 3 and call it a day.

What you guys think?

First kid? You don't need something bigger than an E90. Something with four doors is preferable, though. Car seats in a coupe suck. Kids destroy cars, so don't get something too nice.

I'm surprised you think a 5 series drives like a yacht. I think it's pretty sharp for its size. It sounds like a 3 series is the ticket. You could always look at A4's too. Audi tends to nail their interiors. A Model 3 could be pretty cool, but by the time you spec it out to how you'd want it would be more expensive than a much nicer (in my opinion) used German car.

I used to always hate on minivans, but with three kids I have to say it's a godsend. Kids treat cars like garbage cans, and I don't get as angry when I find a pile of petrified french fries in the back of the van as I would were they in my E90. It cleans up easy. The sliding doors are great too. Kids will want to open the doors by themselves, which leads to banging the doors on the cars parked next to you. A minivan is a great road trip car too. I'm not telling you to get a minivan, but once you have more than two kids it should be a serious consideration.

Overall, kids destroy cars, so don't get something too nice. And for those of you without kids who think mine must be the outlier spawn of hell kids, you're wrong. They're all like that. Is this a one car to rule them all scenario? If not, let your SO's car be the babymobile and you get something interesting to drive.

The cars in Denmark are very expensive, for a BMW you pay 100% tax. For now Tesla have only 20 % tax so you could buy a new Model 3 Long range at same price as a new 3 series.

Ah. I didn't see that you are in Denmark. Sorry. I don't really know what to tell you. A Model 3 might be the ticket, then.

I can't get over the front bumper on the Model 3. It looks like a face with no mouth. As if the car is missing a grill or something.

Idk, to each their own. I love everything about my E90. To me its the perfect daily, if/when I have kids I'd probably just throw a car seat in the back and call it a day. My girlfriend has an SUV so that will most likely become the baby mobile if the time ever comes.

I'd say its time to go test drive some cars

It seems like you value the driving experience more than anything else so let that be your deciding factor maybe

I went from an E92 335i to an E90 335i after my son was born. It's more convenient to get him in and out. Plenty of room if your SO has a bigger car for family trips.

After 2 E90 I feel its time for something else, I actually like the F10 535i , I think with some suspension upgrades will be better than stock.

The problem is the 535i is very rare in Europe, 90% of the 5 series on the market are diesel and I dont want a diesel anymore.

Will wait and see if something shows up for sale

All the cars you’re looking at are paractically the same size as the e90. Can you buy your car back?

What about these other cars gives you significantly more of whateveryoure looking for?

I’m not seeing it.

I had my first babe 5 months and the e91 is more than enough. Would be fine in e90, as well. Likely, even with 2 kids, unless youre 6’4”+ or somethjng

The Model 3 back seat is suitable for car seats and children under 12 years old.

BMW after E46 is meh to me.
BMW after E90 is even worse.

Porsche and Mazda the most enjoyable crossovers at opposite ends of the price spectrum.

Id suggest getting a wagon as opposed to a sedan. I'm sure you could make a sedan work, but something with a bigger trunk will be much more convenient. My wife and I are looking to upgrade her current sedan and are exclusively looking at wagons for this reason. Seeing as how you are in Europe, that shouldnt be too much of an issue for you

Garage List
How about a Mini Clubman. A lot of fun to drive and a good amount of room inside, while not too big on the outside.

Hi, it's my first time posting!

I'm 19 living in London currently own a e90 318d remapped. I love it however I need a petrol bmw due to the incoming diesel tax.

I was wondering if anyone owned/knows about the e90 325i and if it's good?

Here is a pic of my current car

So true about diesel. Roads are packed with 520d.
People don't like to pay for petrol on 530i or 535i

Not sure about how much you looking to spend on a 325i that will decide if you get a N52 or N53.

In UK the N53 engines started around 2007. Put aside the insurance cost for a 19 year old you should also research the running cost on that engine.

A set of 6 injectors will give a shock if you take to garage to replace.

If you can afford the Model 3 and it fits your needs, I'd get it..

I don't understand why you had to sell your E90 because of a kid though - I thought needing an 8,000lb gas guzzling SUV because a kid can't possibly fit in the back seat of a sedan was an American thing. It's totally nonsense. I used my E30, which is way smaller than the E90, as our family car for several years while we had *two* kids and it wasn't an issue. Even the double stroller fit in the trunk..

So the 325i is quite costly? Is there any other e90 petrol model you could recommend to me I'm very unsure what to pick next 🤔 I don't even mind purchasing an e60 petrol either
