Thumbs down Half an E91 Tool Kit!

As the saying goes:
Q: "What's worse than finding a worm in your apple...?"
A: "HALF a worm!"

So I recently collected my 2008 E91 (CPO) from the BMW dealership and spent several hours reading the OM, at which point I discover this car has a toolkit. "Cool," I think and go looking for it.

Sadly, I discover I don't have a toolkit..
I have HALF a toolkit!! There isn't even a TOW HOOK!!
I would have thought that would be a legislated requirement to sell a car, especially a BMW CPO one - if you can't tow it properly or safely, that seems like a liability to me, no? Like having a spare tire (or runflats in this case).

Anyway - I brought it to their attention, and they are DEBATING on what to do!! Disappointed. I would have expected that should be an "OMG MR. NEW CPO OWNER, we are very sorry for our oversight, and will send you a new toolkit (which will cost us next to nothing) immediately."

Still waiting to hear what they decide.

And before I get pounded for not checking - I didn't expect to need to re-CPO the car myself on delivery... I looked for scratches and two keys, and drove off happy. Until now.

You have to find a way to get them you a full set most likely they took it themselves because stealership. When my dad and I went to go get him an X5 from BMW Long Beach I noticed the retractable trunk cover was missing and they brought out a new one. You always have to check for the spare, jack, toolkit, owners manual, for suvs the trunk cover, etc.

Hey Amini77 - Agreed! I am hoping they send me a new set, but they are still debating (day 3, Business passed it to Sales, passed it to Parts...) which is not likely a good sign. I like the dealership I went to... but BMWNA will get a big fat email fart from me if dealership doesn't come through!

And yes... live and learn. Had this been a roadsider deal, I would surely have gone over it with a fine toothed comb. I trusted the CPO a little too much it seems.

Sorry to hear that, that blows. Hopefully, the dealership would do the right thing and fork over the missing items (or just give you a brand new kit).

My feeling exactly! Still waiting for Parts to respond. I'm probably in the Ignore pile by now. I will follow up shortly and see what they say.

Hunh - didn't know that! First time CPO buyer, figured it'd be "good as new"! Lesson learned..

I hope you have at least the wheel nut adapter!

BTW, my dealer would not loose any time and give you a new kit.

Thanks for your input - after my persistent requests, the dealership has confirmed the parts are "in the mail" for me.

Whew!

And as time went on, the toolkit contained fewer and fewer things. My brand-new Euro-delivered '11 e91 came with nothing but the tow hook. I added the rest myself.

Nice thing about ED is you do get the First Aid kit and warning triangle for free.
