Possible oil pan gasket leaking?
Got a 328i 08 sport pkg used recently around 100k miles on it and when I'm doing my oil changes Ive been noticing that there seems to be some oil leaking around the oil pan or transmission casing... I'm not sure which one it's leaking oil from but given that the oil pan gasket is a common replacement for this car I'm just wondering if that's actually what it is. I've taken pics of the area, hopefully the pics show enough for someone to help me out.

Classic oil pan leak. That back right corner is the issue most of the time. I have one myself. If its slow like mine, just clean it up every oil change and keep an eye on it until you have to replace it.

+1 for OPG leak. I'm sure there are those that are more than a nuisance, but for most people, it is just like yours. Mine don't leak enough to affect the oil quantity or stain the garage floor, but the belly pan does get oil in it and I just clean it up when I work under the car. I'm not sure whether it'll get replaced 1st or I'll get rid of the cars 1st.

It an oil pan gasket leak. The DIY section has an excellent write up of the repair, which will help you better understand the situation. Parts are less then $50. Repair At a BMW indy is between $850 to $1,250.
No, your rear crank seal is not leaking. |

It there a telltale sign that the crank seal is also leaking, and not just the OPG?
