While I believe that the OP is in the right because the person going straight should have the right-of-way, stuff like the above annoys me.

OP common, we are not your insurance company, not the police, not your mother..how fast were you really going? I was all for your story and was getting annoyed people were doubting you and then you go and contradict yourself..

And as I said before, I am sorry, but this accident had a lot to do with driver ability, or a lack thereof on both your parts..

All in all, two words ----> Dashboard Camera

I'm no lawyer, but if someone fails to yield, I'm almost certain that a cop can't blame both parties. Frankly something sounds off in your story, or we're all pretty much ill informed on traffic laws.

Do you go to west, east, or central?
Haha just can't wait to come back home from school! West represent!

I was most likely going a reasonable speed. Over the speed limit but not enough to get pulled over. Maybe 5-10 over.

Glad to here the damage was primarily restricted inanimate objects and not either driver.

Just hypothetically speaking say our OP was doing 100 in a 45 mph zone and our cheerleader doesn't yield to him, because she thinks she has plenty of time to clear the intersection. Who is at fault now?

Things are rarely as black as white as people like to assume. There are lots of way to get good estimates vehicle speeds based on collision data. I'm not suggesting the other driver isn't at fault, but the the pictures would suggest the BMW driver hit the the other vehicle (that likely should have yielded). But this also suggests that speed and a potential lack of situational awareness can't be ignored as possible contributing factors.

Good point but she stopped creeping forward while I was coming up to the intersection and I figured she saw me coming. So I proceeded to take my green light. Then she went at the last second. She even told me afterwards she saw me coming.

Good to hear your ok, but this exactly why dashcams are needed in all cars.

Good argument about how E90 kept you safe. Roll with that. If you were in a 1979 Triumph Spitfire you'ld have been toast. If Mom and insurance push hard away from BMW take a hard look at Subaru Mitsubishi and Honda. They make some solid fun cars.

100 in a 45 is different that 50 in a 45.

If I rear end someone because they brake-check me I'm still at fault. The chick failed to yield, end of story.
