Cleaning/Restoring Leather Seats whats your trusted method?

Hello All

I was thinking just to order whatever has good reviews on Amazon but i thought i ask you guys who may of encountered the same problem.

As picture, my bolster is showing signs of fading/wear. Before i run and spend a fortune on professionals/Valets is there a way i can restore this with some kind of quality leather restoration kit/item which the pros use? Have you had similar problem which you used a certain brand/item and it came up wonderful?

Any help?

I use the liquid leather products. Great dye and colour matched to the car. For proper cleaning, Furniture Clinic leather cleaner is excellent.

If you're looking to get back to factory matt (not a bad idea before any repair) then Dodo Juice Supernatural is the best I've found.

I've got the Oyster Leather so I'm a dab hand at this Dodo is more effective than Gliptone and somehow manages to eclipse even the fantastic Dr Leather. It's about £14 a bottle, I'd use that and cleanse thorough then make a colour call, dye etc.

I used a scuffmaster kit on my E36 seats, came up great and the colour match was very good.

I've had a look on their website and they don't do the kit I use anymore (This was like 5/6 years ago)

As a deep clean does anyone tried steam cleaning on a low/medium level? i see lots of videos on this. BUt i am thinking leather interiors are often pigmented. This means they have a coating of colour over the surface which a protective clear coat, similar to a paint. By steam cleaning the leather you may remove and damage this layer? I am not even sure how pigmented Dakota leather is if its faded and you dye/repair it black maybe not make a difference.

I've got a cream interior in my E92 and the seats have become darkish from all the dye transfer from clothes over the years I guess. Just ordered Dodo Juice leather cleaner + sealant along with their brush for £23 combined on Amazon.

Going to take some before and after pictures when I clean it this weekend.
