Having trouble with a boost leak?

Hello, I'm having trouble identifying a boost leak. I replaced the High pressure fuel pump and ended up taking the intake manifold off in order to get to it. I put everything back together and now I'm getting an Engine Malfunction fault when I try to rev it up to 4K rpms. I checked the log on MHD and it looks like the boost is always on negative. I'm getting the Code 30FF Turbocharger charge air pressure too low. It looks like the charge pipe does not fit flush on the throttle body. Would that gasket prevent boost? I also didn't replace the intake manifold gasket. Any areas I should check first. I'm worried that its showing hardly any boost. Thanks

Check to make sure the oring is in the charge pipe, check that the nipple for the bov didn't break and make sure a intake manifold gasket isn't damaged. That's what I would look for

Sounds good thanks I will be getting an oil filter o ring for the charge pipe today and taking it apart to check on the gasket. I'm thinking some kind of vacuum line on diverted valves got damaged or intake manifold nipple.

I found the problem. I broke the nipple on the vacuum pressure hose. This hose connects to one end of a boost solenoid. No wonder I was not getting any boost.

Nothing a little gorilla glue couldn't fix. I will have to replace the hose later.

I'm about to do a little maintenance this upcoming holiday weekend to replace the spark plugs and all of my vacuum lines.

During my vacuum line replacement research, I've found that the nipples on the Pressure Hose (with the two nipples) are very prone to breaking. I also saw a video where someone took the pressure hose out and found small cracks along the plastic that occurred over time.

So I'm replacing the plastic pressure hose when upgrading my vacuum lines. I bought one from fcp euro and a quick google search will give you the part:

BMW Pressure Hose (135i 335i 535i) - Genuine BMW 11666769086

Hope this helps

I'd recommend running a boost leak test or smoke test any time you think there may be a leak. Boost leaks are incredibly common on these cars and if they're not taken care of immediately you can cause premature wear to your turbos as well as higher than expected intake temps.
