Best way to bench test Injectors?

I am putting my car back together after a rebuild and want to make sure I have everything working right. I want to test the injectors before putting them back in the head. I have a mix of three index 2 and three index 8 injectors so I really want to make sure these older ones are working right so I don't ruin a fresh engine. I bought the car with a bent rod so for all I know I have a bad injector that caused detonation or even leaked down and hydalocked it at one time. Checking for leak down will be easy but I am not sure how to test volume and spray pattern.

Just buying several hundred dollars of injectors would be an easy fix but I don't have several hundred extra dollars laying around. So I need to test these and make sure they are functioning properly and none are low flowing.

You'll be wanting a set of 12s, even if they function right now, the likelihood that they wont soon is high and the risk you speak about regarding the new engine is the same.

I do plan to replace them eventually but the only replacement options I see are about $1,200 or buying from questionable sources. So for now I need to test the ones I have to make sure I don't have a weak or partially clogged one.

Show us pics of what you got.

Be prepared to put new seals on, at a minimum.

I've already ordered new seals. mine are a mixed bag of index 2 and index 8. This is the order they were in my car.

The pic is hard to tell what condition the tips are in..."leaky" injectors are pretty easy to tell by looking at them = if the entire tip is black with soot and smells like fuel, then you got a leaky injector.

I recently changed all my injectors to Index-12. The old injectors didn't have any issues with leaking or anything. They all are still working great. I just wanted to upgrade to prevent any future issues. They're a mix of Index-7 and Index-8. If you end up needing any, let me know if you are interested.

#2 from left to right. Side tip is bent up, meaning is possible it was pushed in too deep into the head. I would replace it.
