The ones in my car I used 20w50. For these I'm going to try and get some grease that'll hold up to high temps and bonds well to the plastic. The disas always get oil inside them over time so I suppose it'd be good the two lubricants are compatible.

EDIT: I decided I didn't want to use 20w50 after reading about how much better the lithium grease is and how oil can sometimes rarely attack plastic. So because I want these to last for a long time in someone's car, they're now lubricated with lithium grease and tested again.
They're also quieter when actuating too so that's always a good sign.

do rebuilding the disas with the 80-100$ kit usually fix all of the issues?

Still leaves you with the potential for the motor itself to go bad (which it does). Someone was once researching on where to just find the motor, but nothing ever came of it.

I haven't used any rebuild kits really. I just fix them up and have only had one motor and one board go bad. I think as long as you're getting updated disas the most issues you'll have is maybe a bit ripped green seal and minimal play up top on the shaft but otherwise motor and board is the name of the game.

I just tonight had one that was turning slow and spraying the motor through with MAF cleaner and dipping in alcohol made it work super good. I was just wondering where to get my hands on new motors.

Someone actually found the plant that makes them. But they were never able to get ahold of someone that would take an order (short of 1000 pcs) IIRC.
