My coworker is scared of driving. He told me that on a number of occasions he drove 40 on a turnpike because he's scared to go faster. I told him that he's an idiot and driving so slow is more dangerous than driving fast but he wouldn't listen. He's actually proud of driving so slow and was saying how cars and trucks were blowing by with horns blaring.

And yes, he's Chinese

wow! that is a sad state of existence! I work with a lot of Chinese folks too and it is definitely a cultural thing. I left work behind a colleague yesterday and I realized that he hits his brakes every time he passes an oncoming car!

my ex got this ticket twice, both times it was for hitting the brakes when she got hit with laser/ka.

and yea, the way we think about it, they wont enforce it, because you would have to not be breaking the speed limit for this to be enforceable? double standard if i ever heard of one.
