My car drove fine until limp mode... SES lights, but never noticed any issues in the car's personality until after limp more.

Good luck man.

Model Year: 2011 (inservice date 7/10 IIRC)
Mileage: ~44k
SES encounter: MAF replaced @ ~40k with intermittent SES afterwards
Confirmed Carbon Build Up: yes

Still being repaired. Taken in 10/18. Cleaning heads and replacing intake, etc but waiting for parts. I have not had a decent progress report in a couple of weeks.

I should have the dealer inspect the head and intake. The replaced just about everything else due to carbon build up. The car has been there since 10/17.

Everything else besides the head and intake? The head and intake is pretty much it for carbon buildup. What was replaced?

MAF sensor, EGR valve, EGR cooler, large turbo (twice, the first replacement did not work properly), back pressure sensor, cat converter and I don't know what else since they did not call me in a week or so.

Well if you actually have carbon buildup its going to run just about as poorly as it did before unless the head and intake are worked over

Yikes! 33k! 2011! This is getting too close to home. Did you buy the car new? When? What production month is it? When did you have the EGR-related recall done (at what mileage)? Do you drive it hard, regularly?

P.S. Sorry I just read your other post in the other thread where you answered some of the questions. EGR-recall work date? Production month?

The car was a dealer loaner with 9k and I bought it 2 years ago. The production month was may. I never had a egr recall as far as I know. As far as driving hard I didn't the first year but after reading a lot of the post about driving hard to avoid build up i started to but it was to late and this was only at 26k I believe. When my dealer told me what it was I almost shit myself since a lot of people had problems getting this fixed under warranty but I had no problems.

Carbon Build Up = Oh Hell Yes

1/8" Thick on the intake Manifold, and a way too much buildup on the EGR. Throttle Plate

the polls shows 1/3rd of 335D's having CBU issues...granted this is a selected group posting on here but those numbers are pretty high.
