328i E90 AA tune or ESS?
I know there are a lot of similar questions like this around the forum but you will hear it again today. The reason why I ask is there isn't much 328i with ESS tune. I'm getting my car tuned next week. However I'm stuck between AA and ESS. So is it worth it to shell out $895 for the ESS when AA offers a holiday promotion of $299? I don't have much experience with ESS or AA and have never sat in a tuned car. Bottom point is I don't mind putting out $895 for the ESS if the tune is more superior than AA. Here are the break downs.
AA: Offers holiday promotion $299 to tune (originally $400). Pros: -Only cost $299 -Can tune to specific mods like intake, exhaust and etc,. Cons: -Does not offer hand held device to reflash ECU back to OEM map. User has to deal with the local vendor for this matter. ESS: Offer Direct Flash hand held tool. User can store up to 10 different maps and is able to flash the ECU back to OEM at any given time. Pros: -Direct Flash hand held tool Con: -Cost $895 |

I have the AA tune and think that its very good and value for money.
However I do believe that the tune could be improved to smooth out the torque curve now that I have the upgraded intake and performance exhaust. |

if you wanna a no hassle tune or still under warranty, go with ESS
otherwise 299 for AA is a good deal.

I sort of figured that. If ESS can prove to me that their tune is better then I would go with them. $299 for AA is far more than tempting. If I go with AA, I still have enough money for the angel eyes, corner light, hid fogs and xenon bulb. Lol but ESS worth the money then I can wait for the lights.

Just got the AA tune yesterday. I noticed the car shifted smoothly and pulled much longer. However I still have another 100 miles for full potential of the tune. Thanks to Bryan at Jlevi. I'm planning to do the 3 stage intake manifold swap. I don't know how much AA will charge me for updating the tune. I'm still under warranty. Would the dealer notice if I swap the manifold?

So anyone wana share their AA or any other tune with me and my n52, or are we just gona keep getting fucked over every way by 2 main companies for such basic modified tunes, one day someone will crack their software and share it with others for free/very reduced price. It shouldnt cost 800+$ to modify 1.air/fuel ratio, 2.ignition tables, 3.VANOS, 4.valvetronic systems, and 5.wide open maps. Coming from someone that is a coder* of sorts, these variables are not too complicated, but what these companies have is the proprietary authorization to use some bmw software Id imagine. The way that pirate bay is a thing, should be the same way for coding bmw/car computers; these fucked computers that downregulate the car soo badly needs a revolution from people we should be able to modify our computers, fuck this monopoly on everything type of shit, things are gona change mark my words.

You can complain, or do something about it.
My money is on complaining.. but you should probably read a bit more in this forum. |

I'm sure there's people on these forums that can tune their own cars. I'm also sure there's a wealth of knowledge in the coding section that could help you out. Not even sure why people are mentioning AA or ESS. Thought it was established that BPC is the go-to. To each their own though. On Black Friday I think they had a sale for about $600 on a tune. Also worth noting, this thread is almost 8 years old.

The files he has released are "simple" powerclass bypass that allow the lower powered cars to run the BMW 330 tune. There are no power enhancing features other than BMW values. |

Not in a few months and I kept asking him in the thread and he said he'd eventually get around to it.
