Jack @ Royal Steering Wheel
Guys,
I know this company through the work I've seen on some forum member cars. He's a top bloke as well. But I really want to know how his steering wheel retrim / material has aged or held up over time? Obviously when it comes out of his factory they look the dogs danglees but can anyone please comment how long you've had the steering wheel, what material you chose and whether it's held it's freshness over time? Thanks. Sam |

Sam,
I've had 3 wheels done off Jack and am getting the M3 one and the X5 one done this month once he's back off hols. The wheels I've had done have been fine tbh. Longest I've had one is about a year and everyday use and it's still fresh tbh. But I do clean and treat it regularly with leather feed etc. He uses pretty good quality leather so shouldn't wear too quickly. It isn't a factory though. HTH, Raj.

Hi Sam,
I've had 5 wheels done by Jack over the years. All of them have been great and they have worn/aged just as well as a factory trimmed wheel. Sure, you have to look after them, as you would with any wheel, but those that I've had done still looked great after 2 years. My wife's Audi has had one of Jacks fitted for almost 3 years and it still cleans up nicely to a matte finish. I'd not hesitate to use him again. Matt |

For me, now on my second wheel from a 2nd BMW car. This one is quite new and the quality is outstanding.
My previous was 27 months on my E46 M3. Had a lot of use as it was my everyday car and when I sold it, it looked like new still! Mind you I looked after my car and the wheel got it's looking after just like the seats and exterior. Just my two pence worth!

In all fairness most of his wheels are the same as above with the colour stitching of your choice and either full smooth leather or perforated sides. A mate did have champagne top and bottom to match his seats.

My M3 E46 Steering wheel by Jack. (The blue strip matched the colour of the car Estoril Blue). The one on my E90 is exactly the same but no Blue Strip! Fantastic Job. It will be the best Mod or certainly in the top five of all Mods.

See this is what worries me a little. Whilst this looks a fantastic job, I can see creases appearing and that would annoy me till no end!
Otherwise having the middle stripes etc etc is what I'd love to have! |

I have had mine by Jack for 9 months and driven 8,000 miles ( not much I know) and the wheel feels brilliant in the hand. The wheel is what you feel most directly when driving your car. For the money it must be the best mod you can do.

I had my SE wheel (nasty, very hard leather, no thumb supports) recovered by Jack to be like M-Sport version (Padded, perforated sides, and thumb supports) about 20,000 miles ago and it stills looks and feels like it did the day he fitted it.
