Key Fob Doesn't Work Doors
Hey All,
I recently had an issue with my 09 335's key fob not working any doors. With hours into Google, I didn't find the answer to my problem so I figured I'd post here what I found out. My key fob seemed dead (with no spare for further testing), but the doors all unlocked from the center button and the trunk did open from the foot well button. This made me believe it wasn't a fuse issue. I decided to randomly press it while sitting inside the car and BAM, it instantly went back to normal. All doors function from all the normal distances. I don't have Comfort Access so changing the battery wasn't an option and going to the dealer to get my money removed didn't sound fun. I hope this helps someone in the future if you run into a similar issue! Thanks!! |

Even if you don't have comfort access, the fob still unlocks the doors remotely so I would replace the key fob battery first as it will only cost a few bucks.
I've had a similar issue with my fobs where it would seem that they wouldn't work with my comfort access or with unlocking the doors from a short distance away. Then after I replaced the battery, everything was fine. If replacing the battery doesn't solve the issue, then there's something wrong with the fob and you would need to replace it.
