Possible valve cover leak?
On my n55 I replaced my valvetronic motor and valve cover gasket along with cleaning off where the gasket sits on the engine block. After replacing I got lean codes (P0171) and oil on my under tray on my car and it looks like it's definitely coming somewhere from the far back of the engine block. Is there anyway to check if it's a valve cover leak or a cracked valve cover? It's a pain in the butt to remove my valve cover and the engine is so close to the firewall of the car to be able to see with a mirror. I need to get my oil leak fixed before I tune my car. Any solutions?

If the cover isn't seated all the way it can cause a vacuum leak and the lean code (I think). This would also cause an oil leak. So it sounds like the valve cover is not fully seated.

I would get a new valve cover, while inspecting if it's cracked (labor to get it off) you'd might as well swap in the new one after confirming it was cracked or something.
