Fuse 54 causes Parasitic Drain

Hey guys I have a 2006 325i and I found that my car has a parasitic drain Going on. I looked at the little guide and I've found that fuse number 54 is the problem. That one supposedly controls the engine but I'm not sure what to do from here. What engine wires or systems in the engine are going through this fuse ? Any help would be really great.

What guide?

How much drain?

How did you measure it?

That is interesting! How did you trace the drain to that fuse, a load test and pulling each fuse until the excessive drain disappeared? Also, what is the extend of the parasitic draw that your car is suffering from, and age of battery? Is it a constant drain, or intermittent? And lastly, how long does the battery last from a good charge until it's not able to start the car?

I am sitting with an intermittent power drain with my car, and this is now the second new battery that I had fitted. First one was admittedly faulty and was OEM and after literally two years and a week I decided to have my car and battery thoroughly tested. At the time, everything on the car seemed fine, no parasitic draw, charge rate was fine, but the battery was indeed faulty and had one dead cell (internal resistance). Luckily I was able to get it replaced in September last year. Now while I don't drive my car very often, it does at least get a good weekly drive and if necessary I use my smart charger to keep the battery charged. But it happened a few times during the hot summer months at the start of the year that the battery had completely died after standing for a week at a time! No stupid leaving lights on, no comfort access, so nothing other than the battery running flat from either some form of parasitic draw, or another dicey battery. It is so frustrating actually! The only thing that I have noticed a few times is that after I have parked the car and left it stand, a certain amount of time passes, and you can hear the electronics wake as if you opened a door, and the start button is then illuminated. It goes off again after a minute or so, but clearly something is triggering the electronics to wake up, or preventing it from going to sleep.

Well it's not really a guide just the little paper that comes with the fuse box numbering all the fuses and shows a little picture of what they represent.

Well the car was pulling about 15 amps while the car was off and nothing was running so the car would die after a few hours. I just started by simply pulling one fuse at a time until the my multimeter finally read about 0.04 amps and that was after pulling a 60amp fuse that Im belive is number 54 on the little paper and it shows a picture of an engine

Its a brand new battery that I installed after I found the first one dead.

Okay, well, hope you are able to find out what is causing this extreme power drain on that circuit!!! Keep us posted.

Hi, Im having exactly same problem. I have e91 2005 325i. I have 0.86A drain. Battery dies from full to fully dead in 24h. Battery has been tested and its good.

Today I was pulling fuses and found that F54 (engine management fuse) was drawing battery. Once disconnected drain disappeared.

What could be the problem and does anyone has a Fuse 54 wiring map??

Thank You

DME relay?

Just to be sure, you have no IBS on the negative terminal clamp, correct? I've only seen IBS on the LCI cars or ones with AGM batteries
