You know what is sad? There were barely any non-M E9Xs there!!! Fail!! lol

I know many on e90post say their car can smoke an M3 . So take it off the streets and bring it to the track!

Seriously lol

I just really want people to come out. When I was 16, I didn't tracks existed so I always did stupid crap on the street.... canyons, freeway "runs," redlight "battles" and all that shit. Unsafe, risky, not worth it.

Not to say I don't speed anymore (I speed but a lot lot less, I'm 70mph on the freeway in the right or middle lane lol), but it's really helped get all that testosterone we have hehe

I've made a lot of close friends too from tracking, so I love it. I spend more money on tracking than I did on all of my girlfriends over the years combined lol

I'm thinking of tracking but I'm pretty sure I don't have the cash to do so lol between the cost of tires and emergency failures lately, I'm broke as hell
Id love to join you in the track one day but as for now, ill have to hang back lol
If you need someone to vouch for you to be sponsored or something at buttonwillow, I'm pretty sure half of the cali thread, if not more, will vouch including myself

You're welcome to come hang out though.

It's fun. Think of it as the car meets we all go to... but instead of all the cars constantly being parked, they're out on the track every 30-40 minutes or so. it's awesome. A couple of guys have come to just hang out and I've never seen anyone complain.

If you don't track regularly like me, the costs isn't that bad. I'd say $300-400 for a week? including registration, gas and wear/tear.

You should try it out whenever you can

Lol I think skill only goes so far on a track full of higher powered monsters vs. My little 328 :'( maybe one day ill join you on the track and check it out. 300-400 a week doesn't actually sound that bad? I was thinking more towards the higher hundreds for multiple sets of tires and gas?

You don't go through a set of tires in 1 day, especially if you're a beginning

Dude there are civics and miatas that run CIRCLEs around Porsche GT3s!

But it's about having FUN, not having the fastest time.

Experienced driver in a miata will be faster than an unexperienced driver in a Z06 or other high hp cars around the track.

I had this proven to be when I kept getting past my miatas in my m3 when i first started tracking lol

Lol really?! I know skills can make any car just that much faster but I never knew something with that much power difference can really dominate? I always thought it only mattered on higher twisted road likes the canyons because canyons hardly have long straights as a track would. Ill reconsider that now how hot does it get out there? I've been itching to go so bad but haven't had the money to and just in case my tire pops, do they have a tire mounting machine?

Buttonwillow has a fully equipped tire shop

Willow Springs does as well.

It's track dependent. Like a Miata won't really be able to do much at Auto Club... but depending on the configuration at Buttonwillow or at a small track like Streets of Willow, things change.

100 octane also available.

Yup

But the 100 octane is fair, $10/gal. Which is standard.

I think they just hate selling 91 lol. so they make it crazy expensive.

Is 100 oct safe for a stock motor internally?

Not sure on a N52 but it's better for a N54.

Higher octane, as long as it's not lead base (i.e. 110 octane), is generally (M3, N54, GTR, Porsches, etc) better for the engine.

More power + better MPG too (lol)
