I used VHT red spray from auto zone only $7.

thats what i used on mine, the only thing is, you'll want to clear them after because it'll look dull next to the factory red tails.

Vinyl is best option as said, costs minimal, and takes no time at all. Easy to do on a flat service like that also. However as said, u'd loose your reverse lights.
