There's more torque down low and the pull after 4k is sooooo sick, pure VTEC! RIP my fuel economy. Accelerating upto 2800ish like I do in city traffic off a light, it picks up much quicker. Before, I'd have to dip into the pedal more to keep up with traffic off a light and I'm finding now it gets going way easier. No 335i duh but it's absolutely faster in the entire rev range. Did not expect the boost in low end torque to be so noticeable.
I need to study how to install that tune on my car and I don't think it will be easy for dump person like me lol

Actually the BimmerLabs setup builds a script file that makes flashing the new tune easy.

Not idiot proof, just easy.

Yeah, there's not a lot to study. If you download the BMW software from Bimmergeeks, and verify your cable actually works, then flashing your car is pretty easy.

I was just talking to somebody from here who's laptop crashed in the middle of flashing the RSA delete/unlock. They just restarted the flash and it was fine. Just goes to show you, how safe WinKFP is..

Hmm. I'm not sure where I was going with that either.

heh, I missed all that part of the thread. Go ahead and search how to "unlock" your DME like a phone. You're not going to find anything because it's nothing like that.

And no, there was never any such car as a 330i or a 330xi with MSV80.

They do sell a cable that is recommended to be used as they know it gets the job done.

And they also only offer 2 free "projects" to work with so you can pay for additional slots which could make your life more easy.

I'm going through the thread for tuning ATM. hopefully by the time i'm done, i can have some new confidence on doing this myself.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...8&goto=newpost

I will have to haul my desktop out to the garage to do the deed as my laptop was turned into a university tool for my nephew, lol. Maybe a macbook can be used. i'll have to check on bimmerlabs

getting this car has been soon much more fun than any other thing i've owned...I will do the following: Charcoal delete on the intake, new K&N intake filter, Intake muffler delete, 3 stage intake manifold, Performance exhaust mod, exhaust mid pipe Ressonator Delete, Tune for 330i transmission, then engine tune so it can deal with the extra air flow from the intake manifold. This is all planned for after my holiday.

there is only one other thing i can do, and that's headers.. anyways, the will be later.

Are the files available on Bimmerlab stock DME files? or are they tuned ones?

I don't sell cables.

2 slots is enough for one AT car or 2 MT cars.

We like BimmerGeeks cables because we know they always work. BimmerGeeks also hosts a lot of BMW proprietary software for free and easy download.

BimmerLabs and BimmerGeeks are totally distinct entities, though.

Yeah. Its sold by bimmergeeks, like it says (literally). I don't make money off it - its just a convenience for the users.

So, that's the best cable to buy it right ? Any other cables work fine too or not really ??

It's the best cable for flashing (short of a real ICOM). If you're just doing coding, it's not needed. Some modules will brick with a more generic D-CAN cable (not MSV80 though, it's just slower).

I have a $15 ebay cable that worked fine with INPA... but honestly I wouldn't trust it to not fry my DME. I split the cost of a real ICOM between 3 friends a couple years ago because we wanted to be able to update the navigation maps on my friend's iDrive over MOST, but if i was starting fresh I'd buy the bimmergeeks cable

Okay, i'll put an order in, though why not use a referral link? I guess it's only a couple of bucks anyways, right?

I've only made it to page 20 on your big thread. I really appreciate the effort you put into this tuning.

You've already been helping find out which files I need, but i'm a bit confused about that part.

I have a 2007 328xi auto.

I'd like to flash the engine for 3 stage intake and the transmission with the 330i software. I understand i need to search for certain vehicles with the same DME as what my car has, though at that point i don't know where to go.

the 330i isn't equip with the proper DME so that seems like a no for the flash. Am i correct in this statement?

Am I crazy, or does that seem extremely expensive for some used gear?
Am I looking in the wrong place?

I'm thinking of just going to a wrecker and trying to find the parts there.

Any advice would be great. or image to show the visual differences between the stage 1 and stage 3 intake so I can know what i'm looking for.

Additionally, I understand that both the state 1 intake and stage three intake have the same part numbers, which seems strange. is there a way to be sure i don't get the wrong one if i order online?

Thank you.
I purchased a 3 stage intake from ebay that came off of an X3. It has the low output n52 engine code on the part # but it works perfectly. I got it for $250.

Edit: this intake has the integrated PCV system i think since mine 328i is a 2011.

I also highly recommend the MILVs mod and the BPC tune that accompanies it.

I'll have to look up the MILVs mod.

I'm going to go with hass' tune once it's ready. Seems like paying $600+ for a partial tune is no long needed for my car.

Thanks for your contribution.

edit: I see, it's the lift modification. Putting spacers or what not under the valves.
