well, i attempted to calm down the drone from my re ikon exhaust today.
after reading a post on m3forum.net, i decided to put some sound deadening material in my trunk to help kill some of the drone. after some research, i decided to go with damplifier from secondskinaudio.com. this stuff is suppose to be better than the name brand dynamat xtreme and cost a bit less. i went with 10 sq ft, which is just enough to cover the plastic bin and the metal between the bin and back seat. this stuff is very easy to work with. i just measured and cut with scissors. this stuff goes down just like tape and form it the best you can to the body's contours. i know it's not the best job, but i was not looking for perfection and this is my first time ever doing this. the result: i would say it cut down on a good 50% of the drone. the drone i got at my 70 mph cruising speed, a good amount seems to be gone. there is still some droning between the shifting of gears, but that doesn't really bug me much. disclaimer: i got to repeat what the guy on m3forum.net said, that, your results may differ from my results. some may find all drone is gone, some drone is gone, or that it didn't work at all.
