If you're not on run flats let some air out of the rear tyres down to about 12 psi. Spin the rears in the water trough just before the line to get some heat into them.

Don't get too carried away off the line, any spin is lost time, be like the Fonz - stay cool

Times will improve after lunch. Track temperature will increase, and as it gets towards 4pm you will have less time to wait between runs as people go home, keeping heat in your tyres.

p.s
Do you have a private number plate, as I'm sure I've seen a 335d with a plate similar to your name driving through Mount Farm/Bletchley?

good luck

What time was you there at? I managed a 14.4 pass that was my best! There was a couple of bmw's while I was there. A white 1m or 135i that beat me and a mr2 turbo!

what top speeds did your cars pull ?
the top speed shows the power of the car not the time.

Why second gear? As soon as you mash the pedal it will kick down to first gear, so why not start in first?

just press the pedal down but not into kick down and it wont change into first, I put it in DS flicked it into 2nd build the revs up then let the brake off. Once you near 30mph just put the pedal fully down to make the gearbox change gear itself!

Only reason i started in second was because it saved the short first gear and kept my momentum a little longer

I'll give it a go. Every time I try to get to Santa Pod some mechanical issue with the car stops me. Or the weather. Next RWYB is on 18th May I think.
