That's very good and well worth doing - as are all these preventative maintenance jobs

Let's us know how you get on and what the car drives like afterwards

I’ve got mine booked in in new year with a local specialist, £390, 2.2 hours labour.

Yeah he does. Think he's done quite a few - he was doing a mates range rover a while ago when I went over for something.

Well I had the gearbox serviced last night. Think my mate managed to get about 8lts out of the box which was good. He also replaced the oil in the diff and did a front wheel alignment, all for £300 - bargain! It certainly is good to have mates in the car trade!
I haven't driven the car much yet but on the two short tripsI have done, the gear shifts are noticeably smoother. Jobs a good'un

Not as far as I know. I seem to remember reading a lot of conflicting information on this somewhere, so didn't bother suggesting it.
He did say the oil that came out was particularly dirty, so glad I got it done.

Just to add to this a bit...

I've been quoted £421.80 (inc VAT) from a BMW Indy garage who have confirmed they use all genuine ZF parts.

They claim to change the oil, sump pan/filter and "electrical connection plug" whatever that is!

Is there anything else I should point them too?

Without the risk of being ruined, should we be doing this after 70K miles has been passed? I'm on the big 100

Mine had the electrical plug in the quote too at £390, another Indy quoted £450 without the plug.....

Supposedly the plug should be changed .....
