It's a big deal to see a plane of that size do a loop, that's a talented pilot! Besides a barrel roll isnt as hard on a plane as a loop! In your video that's technically not a 707.

Are you trying to top my post and make yourself sound smart?

I Never said it was the most dangerous maneuver to execute! Nothing Boring about a plane of that size doing a loop, it's extremely rare!

Yes, I obviously topped your post but the second part is wrong. Why would knowing about more interesting things than a C-130 looping make anyone smart or not smart? It's just what you've been exposed to. It should be obvious from my post history that I'm actually kind of an idiot, just very curious.

Anyway, thanks for the correction on the 707. I don't know that much about aviation, but I do know that a C-130 being looped really isn't a big deal. See the helicopter being looped. That is a big deal.

That Helicopter empty weight is less than 2,000lbs, the Hercules empty weight is around 35 tons. The bigger, the heavier the aircraft, the more stress on the airframe.

It's an engineering feat, well designed plane and a talented pilot! Most transport aircraft that size cant do it!

That loop can easily turn into a spin, Nothing boring about that maneuver!

If you think it's not interesting, move on with your life, there are subjects on here i don't find interesting.
I dont feel the need to ruin it for the people that find those subjects interesting. I'm not that self centered!

Okay, then you go do it! As a former F-4 Phantom pilot, I can tell you that it is a BIG deal.

That is a misunderstanding of how physics work. The only relevant figures are the expected loading and the stress the airframe can bear without damage or outright catastrophic failure depending on how far in the future you want to keep flying it. The airframe strength is based on the expected loading plus a safety margin. You can have a 250 lb microlight that breaks apart at 4G, because it wasn't designed for high loading, or you can have a 80,000lb heavy ass fighter that will withstand more Gs than the pilot, because it was designed to.

Also, aside from the fact that the pilot of that helo looped super close to the ground and almost killed himself, there are some inherent safety issues with looping a helicopter. Like the tail can get cut off. I think the rotor head on that particular craft is OK in low G, but some of them will come off in that condition. I think that video is extremely badass.

No, I have not flown the C-130 - only T-37, T-38, F-102, and F-4. And your pilot experience is?

Flying is flying and aerodynamics is aerodynamics. Thrust, drag, lift, yaw, roll, pitch, etc. don't care anything about the aircraft - the rules of aerodynamics don't change. If is irrelevant to you then that is fine.

This is pretty cool that a C-130 can do this too: C-130 USS Forrestal carrier landing/takeoff unassisted.

Definitely not an inside loop, but not a Cuban 8. Probably an oblique loop to reduce wing loading over the top.

That ain't nuthin' General Atomics flew their SkyGuardian aircraft from North Dakota to the UK without a pilot onboard nor with a chase place (24.2 hour flight) with appox 24 hours of fuel remaining.

Beat that manned aircraft shnizzles.
