Step or 6MT? Tires?

Either way that is a pretty sweet time for an E90 on just JB2.

Thats a good time you should be happy. Your 60' was really good if you're on street tires.

Maybe go when its cooler outside, you might be able to get into the 12s

RDs track prep isn't that great...

My friend went out there with a GTO and couldn't break 14. That tells you something.

Please correct me if wrong, but 13.1 @105 mph seems to me like numbers achievable in a stock car. Many magazines report similar numbers in their comparison tests. I am not to trying to diminish or belittle your times or anything. I just thought a tuned car would easily surpass those numbers. Am I wrong to think so?

Yes, certainly that, but I firmly believe that he could have been in the 13s with a little better prep. He also suffered from massive amounts of wheelhop.

Yeah, I can understand that. I have always done my 1/4 mile runs at Capital Raceway and they usually do a pretty good job, but some nights are better than others and it can affect your 60' pretty good/bad. Even with a crappy track he shouldn't be running too far outside of 14's though. Those cars have SO much top end it isn't even funny.(especially the LS2's) Sounds like he just needs to work on launching and he will be okay.

If I remember correctly I think most stock evaluations have the numbers at somewhere in the 13.6 @ 104 mph range. The OP has a sub 2.0 60' which is pretty good on stock tires and with the tune he is running he is gaining a lot of the mid range (not so much in the top end). Likewise you throw a good free flowing exhaust [read: turbo back] on there and you should see a substantial increase in your trap speed.

OP- I think you have a few options to take into the 12's. Aside from race gas option, just pick 2 and I think you should have little problem making a sub 12 second pass.

Thank you sir, you must be a pro at this. I will make some changes next time I hit the track and post a new 1/4 mile.

Thanks! I'm hardly a pro but I learned a lot when I put my 91' Volkswagen Golf into the mid 12's (the car in my signature).

1,500 RPM? You might as well NOT brake torque and would likely have gotten similar results.

Brake torque that bad boy to 3,500 RPM! Drop the rear tire pressure down to 20psi! Bump the front up to 42psi! Guarantee you will be in the high 12s with that, even in 90 degrees weather.

^ he has a valid point. You might pull off a 1.7X 60' time if you're willing to try that out.

He wouldn't be able to brake torque up to 3500 RPMS with the step.

Why not? I'm not personally familiar with the automatic...Is there something specific that prevents the Steptronic from brake torquing to a higher RPM?
