Pandora, Spotify, MoG, etc etc...

I like to use pandora in the background since music selection algo seems pretty good...

trying to find a service with higher quality audio though....

any suggestions, do you prefer one over the other?

I use pandora but find it's not very good at variety within a station, it will play a block of one genre then a block of another. Signed up for spotify but haven't set that one up yet, so I"m interested to hear if its a lot better.

I like grooveshark. You can actually choose which songs you listen to, and you don't need to sign up

I only use Pandora, I even pay $36 a year for the "one" option (no ads, unlimited, desktop app) I do find that variety within one station can be limited, so I'm constantly editing my "quickmix" to shuffle through many of my stations. I end up listening to it pretty much all day while working from home, but rarely in my car (which I'm rarely in for more than 15 minutes)

But lately, when I'm running the desktop app, and I hear a song I want to get more info on, if I click on the artist or song title, it opens a web page (which it always has) but it now opens a page which includes the web version of the streaming music and it starts playing another song through the browser while I'm still listening to the desktop app. I believe some of you kids would call that "retarded."

Anyone else experiencing this? I can't seem to easily find a pandora forum, certainly nothing on their site. I have seen that support for their desktop app is pretty lame, perhaps this is their way of telling me not to use it anymore? I like it mainly because it minimizes to the tray = one less window/tab to manage...

I only listen to music on my desktop so I have spotify. Waiting until the 6mo no listening cap runs out before I decide whether or not to go unltd or premium.

I've been pretty happy with spotify since I usually have a long list of albums/artists I've been wanting to listen to.
