0-60 times
I don't believe we have a section for this. For those of us who care, what's your 0-60 time you have achieved?
I made a 4.7s as my best so far. I recorded with my scangauge2. I had probably a full tank, 100+lb in the trunk and 42psi rear tire RFTs. I haven't tried yet with my P-Zero Nero tires.

Mine feels quick enough but I have never timed it. My JBD is at about 60% where it was when I bought it.

That information might help, lol. I was in M2 and shifted at 4k rpms. It said my 60' time was 2.2 so that's consistent with my 1/4 times I got at a track. I believe the temps were around 40f and medium humidity. I only went one way and the road is pretty flat as far as I know. I have JBD set to 100%. When it was on 80% I was getting a 4.8/9.
I know this isn't as accurate as a VMax or some other GPS performance gauge. Still gives a rough idea though.

On Mich PSS it was difficult to control well, but could get ~4.6 sec if the tires didn't break loose (on above link Main and Run 1 are PSS, 2 and 3 are slicks). With slicks it was substantially easier to control and could get below 4.5 sec. Think in reality its faster than that as the Gtech predicted ~2.1 60ft times but at the 1/4 mile track the last two times I've got into the 12.6's and the better 60 ft time was 1.91. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=37 But traction can be an issue with street tires. The car utilizes an electronic LSD which pushes power to the ground through both wheels when a low traction situation occurs. I can see both wheels leaving rubber marks in loss of traction situations. In a more dynamic situation that isn't a straight line, something like a conventional LSD might do better than the e-LSD.

Wow....so these cars are hitting 4.7 seconds or better??? That is a significant improvement over the 6.7 seconds BMW rated them at. What is the biggest reason for the gain? Tune? Or is there more to it?
Hoping to pick up my 335d this week, just curious what to expect from a stock d. From reading here, I understand the best way to launch the car is M2 mode, brake and rev to ~2000rpm, then release and fly. Definitely interested in this thread. My bud in a stock 135i told me he'd like to run me in the d sometime just for fun. |

Maybe the difference is the roll out. I wonder how fast the car is really moving at the one foot marker. It's not 0!

http://www.scangauge.com/ is the device I use. I found it at Autozone for like $140 or so and have it stuck to my dash (in kind of a classy spot). I mostly use it for water/intake temps. I wish it was able to read boost for this car.

Ordered a $15 OBD2 to Bluetooth adapter yesterday. My plan is to use the iphone torque app like TDIwyse. Looks like a very thorough app. TDIwyse has countless guages and measurements in his virtual dashboard. Do a search and credit to him for sharing with us.

BMW rates the car at 6 seconds, which is probably about right if you're in average conditions, without any special brake torqueing or anything special. ~5.5 seconds is about right with brake torqueing, and in really ideal conditions you can probably get as low as 5.2 (this is the best stock number I've seen, measured on video by hotrod back when his car was stock).
And Mark M, you should run your buddy's 135i and let us know how it goes. I'm guessing the D won't be too far behind. |

i usually hit around 4.5-4.6 ..that is a launch starting in M2, and holding the brake and gas and revving a little ... JBD set on about 85-90% That time is hard to be consistent though, its usually closer to 4.8-5.0

I should try a small brake boost (1k rpm) for another 0-60 run and hope I don't make 11's lol
