E90 Restore SOS button function?

Calling all comms / electrical techs

Knowing that the networks these cars used for using BMW Assist have been discontinued, is a retrofit or modification possible to bring back just the SOS function?

When researching, most have asked for a complete retro fit to make ConnectedDrive, services, assist etc. work again.

I only want the basic SOS emergency function to work. No need for other functions.

Pressing the button attempts a call but the car cannot connect to a tower and starts flashing the antenna logo on screen.

If nesessary, here is relevant build sheet info

January 2007 build 335i with iDrive:

S609 - Navigation system professional
S620 - Voice control
S639 - Preparation F Mobile Phone Cpl. USA/CDN
S645 - BMW US Radio
S677 - HiFi System Professional DSP
S693 - Preparation BMW Satellite Radio
S694 - Provision BMW 6 CD changer
S6UH - Traffic info

Thanks.

technically you can search very rare 4G LTE combox on used market, i've seen them on ebay
this combox was only installed aftermarket, if customer had prepaid connected drive services and bmw could not cancel them without legal consequences
and then upgrade radio to 2010+ version and code it

You have a 18 year old BMW. Why would you want to try and rehabilitate the long defunct SOS button? If you were in a situation where you were stranded by the side of the road or in an accident - just pull out your cell phone and call 911. Even if you were to somehow able to retrofit a new BMW SOS functionality (do the new ones still come with this???), BMW would probably not give you free access to their SOS network without paying.

This seems like a waste of time. Instead, be thinking about what you could install in place of the old SOS button. Passenger seat ejection seat? Flux capacitor activation switch? Possibilities are nearly limitless....
