Hey guys I just purchased Konig Ampliform wheels
18x9.5 ET35 concave squared.
Tires are Yokohama Advin Sport A/S
255/35/18 front
275/35/18 rear

Im an LCI on stock sport suspension.
Will I have an issues?
Will I need spacers up front?

255 easily fits in front from my experiences.

I believe you'll need a spacer up front as the +35 won't clear the strut/spring. I have a 9.5 +28 up front with a 265/35r18 and was slightly worried about the inner barrel of the wheel contacting the strut or the tire contacting the coilover adjustment collar.

Would a 3mm spacer up front work fine? I don't mind rolling my fenders if need be as well.
Turning and bumps rubbing issues?
Do you guys have pics with stock suspension on 18x9.5 front?

My 18x9et30 was 1-2mm from my KW strut, 18x9.5 wouldn't have fit. Stock suspension is small than KW, but I imagine you would need about a 10mm spacer to fit those. 18x9.5 in front has been done many times, there should be plenty of threads regarding the fitment.

Lastly, front fenders are plastic and can't be rolled since they're plastic. I reckon you might need to pull the alignment pins to bring that camber down, you might even need a camber kit. Again, try and find some other posts regarding this fitment.

You will need spacers up front to clear the struts, and consequently negative camber dialed in to clear the front fenders. The only way an 18x9.5" ET35 wheel can fit in the front of an E9X 3 series without spacers is with stretched tires, and even then the wheel sits very close to the strut.

Spacer thickness requirements in this situation are fluid, as it really depends on the type of suspension, and brand/size of tire being used - not all are created equal. 5mm spacers would be a good starting point, but some have needed thicker spacers due to the factors mentioned above.

Last, installing an extended stud kit will be very helpful. Since you may need to fumble around with different spacer thicknesses to find the proper clearances, it is best to install 75mm extended studs so that you can accommodate a range of spacers thicknesses up to 12.5mm. If you go the extended lug bolt route, you will need to match the bolt length to the spacers being used.

The only reason is I love the concave with the 18x9.5 on all 4 corners. That is why I would like to go 9.5 in the front. What do you think about

Bummer you have to compromise your front wheel fitment just to get the concave face you want. Our 18x9" ET30 has a concave face that matches the wider width rear wheels for staggered configurations.

With that said, your proposed wheel and tire specs will likely require a minimum of 5mm spacers up front, and as I mentioned above you will also want to dial in some negative camber to prevent rubbing the front fenders. With a 9.5" wide wheel up front, you are fighting both inner and outer clearances which is why it really only makes sense if it is a serious track car running 265 tires and aggressive camber specs.

Pulling the camber pins and maxing out negative camber (typically nets you between -1.5 and -1.8 degrees) should be enough to where adjustable camber plates are not necessary. If you were tracking the car I would definitely go straight to camber plates, as you would want more negative camber anyways.

Edit: I see you already purchased 3mm spacers. I hope those give you the inner strut clearance you need. It's going to be close!

The wheels and tires arrived! They fit without a hitch!
Stock LCI rwd sport suspension
Heres what I did. 18x9.5 ET 35 Konig Ampliform Square setup.
255/35/18 fronts Conti DWS 06 XL
265/35/18 rears same tire

I'm assuming going with a 255/35 tire has deff made the difference in height and slight stretch. Nice rounded edge.
The stock is 235/40 and the 255/35 seem smaller in height to fit.


-Installed hubcentric 3mm spacers up front. The wheel/tires would hit the shock tower without so that was a must.

-Installed wheels studs (wasn't a must but gets rid of those pesky wheel bolts)

The concensus - it completly transformed the car. Love the concave look both front and rear and the tire fits perfectly flush with the fenders.

Driving - So my neighborhood is by far the worst roads anywhere. Bumps dips and uneven roads.
I took it around the block going the speed limit never once hit rubbed or caused any noise. I took it out on the freeway and drove normal. No hit rubs or noises. On my way back home I decided to push it in my neighborhood and see if I could get it to rub, hit a good dip going the speed limit, and it did rub oh so slightly sounded like inside fender liner on the front bumper. That dip was big and knowing I pushed it to get it to that tells me that I will never get it to rub as my previous stock cars even had issues with that dip.

Once I got home I took pictures of every part of the suspension and tire. Nowhere did it look rubbed or nicked.

Conclusion - I'm very happy with my setup, you can run 18x9.5 front and rear. You may have to get a smaller tire in height, also will have to add a spacer. I recommend a 3mm-5mm but any bigger would push the wheel way outside the fender. No other modifications to suspension and no camber.
Now using other tire brands maybe a different tire size and could rub? But who would buy anything other than Conti DWS?? Haha

Nice to see you got the 18x9.5 et35 square rims to work up front with a 3mm spacer and a 255 tire without camber.

Ideally what rim size is the best on the front of these cars? 18x9 et30 or 18x9.5 et35?
With stock sport/msport suspension which will probably be swapped for coilovers.

Also why a 265 instead of 275 rear? I noticed some thick rubberized seam sealer type glue over the rear quarters.
