Hi All, the biggest problem I have is the audio switches on when I reverse. So annoying! Any fixes for it?

Dynavin is deep into N7 stuff right now but once that gets settled Ill see if they are able to go back and do a revision on the N6 firmware to change the way the reverse camera is handled

So I noticed this last fall before I put the car away, but never took a picture. Today was it's first day out of hibernation and this was very apparent from the driver's seat tonight.
Anyone else's buttons starting to look crackled? This can only be seen when the buttons are illuminated. They look nice and smooth in daylight. This particular N6 was purchased around April 2015.

Thats a new one, have not seen that before and I had various units in my E92 for 5+ years. Maybe temperature? Some kind of cleaning product? The buttons are relatively easy to swap out if needed.

Yeah, it's very strange. I only use a dry micofiber rag to dust the unit off. No cleaning products are ever used. I would say maybe my finger oils were doing it, but all the buttons show very consistent crackling, and some of them I have only one ever touched maybe once.

Yeah dont know, maybe a fluke or a bad batch of paint or something. Ive not seen that anywhere else before. If you get ambitions some day let me know and maybe I can try to round up a set of buttons.

Are Dynavin units a bit like the Eonon/Xtrons one? I've just installed an Xtrons which I know have a mixed reputation here. There are loads of little hacks and tricks I've found, including one that as good as removes the need to wire in the long yellow wire....... Now, whether you lot can use it with Dynavin, god knows, but if it's Android, then it's quite possible you can.

So what does that long yellow wire do? Simply maintain the memory and clock? Does it have any impact on the CANBUS systems? I'm only asking because I'm experiencing some really weird canbus quirks with my Android one, and I didn't connect that wire. Everything else works fine despite it not being connected.

A major annoyance I have is when my phone is connected, and then I unplug it, the radio starts automatically playing and at a super loud volume. This almost blows my eardrum out every time. Another issue I have with the n6 is when my bluetooth is connected to my iphone, it automatically starts playing music from my iphone library. This is also super annoying and scary to my ears as well.
Is there a fix to the two aforementioned issues?

when you unplug a device the dynavin will switch to the next available source, that is normal, the volume does not "change" BUT if your ipod is much quieter than the radio station you will have the volume up and when it changes to a different source it may be a louder song, etc.... In the sound settings menu there is a source level setting to adjust the relative volume between sources, you probably need to turn the radio level setting down so that it matches the perceived loudness of the other sources.
Yes, if you have the unit on streaming audio it will start playing automatically, regardless of what the source is it will start playing when you start the car. That is what it is supposed to do and is how most people want it, you get in, start the car and the music starts up. This is not exclusive to the dynavin, almost all car audio systems work this way and the phone is designed to play when connected as well. If its not something you like your best bet is to get into the habit of lowering the volume when you leave the car, Ive been an audio guy for most of my life and its standard practice for me to lower the volume when I arrive somewhere so I do not get a surprise the next time I get in the car! |

my unit is dying!!!
jeffb335 like a month ago my unit started to fail, from no reason the music stops and the screen start to become white, and obviously i cant do anything, i have to rest the unit with the "source" button and then turn the unit off for a while and then start to work again.

Both of these are likely the same thing, a bad solder joint from an early batch, it’s been discussed earlier in this thread. Contact your dealer, if that’s me send me an email, and we can look into a repair.
