Im back in a BMW!
Been a while since me E30M3, just blew up the Bora TDi and jumped at the chance to go to the dealer and pick up an E90 330d.
Going in for a remap this Friday, pleased with the car - just needs more beans.
It was between this and a VXR8, which had the same torque..... no brainer really. 330d FTW!

Oh - and hello

Hi all

I just bought a 320D M Sport E92. I love it. What a car. Can't wait to chip it though, moving from a clio 172 cup ( in case anyone knows that car ) I need a wee bit more speed.

Love this forum, so much to offer.

Sherv!

Hi all,

They say once you go Jap, you dont go back, well, I have.

I have been a fan of Jap cars all my life, I still am but due to a change in personal circumstances I have had to grow up and think more about mpg and finances so I have bought a mint 50k miles, 2007 (57) plate BWM E90 330d M Sport in Le Mans blue. It has had 1 previous very careful owner and a FBMWSH.

The car is of the following spec:
Manual
Alacantra interior
Xenon headlights
BMW Profesional sound system
Rear parking sensors.

I have done the following in my 2 weeks of ownership:
R Spec remap to around 295 bhp / 450ft lbs with the DPF still in.
7000k LED angel eyes
Front carbon full length splitter
Nokian WR A3 winter tyres 225/40/18 - 245/40/18 (I will get new summer non runflat tyres soon).
Parrot MKi9200 bluetooth kit

A bit about my past cars:
1999 UKDM Honda Integra Type R DC2
2006 Caterham Superlight R300
2004 Honda Integra Type R DC5 (Buddy Club UK build and most powerful N/A road going DC5 in UK 274.9 and 190 ft lbs)
2000 Mitsubishi Evolution 6 Tommi Makinen Edition
2007 Mitsubishi Evolution 9 MR FQ 360 by HKS.

Here are some photos of my beloved Evo 9 for you all, and as you can imagine I am also an active member of www.lancerregister.com as JTTME.

Engine:

Exedy Twin plate HD clutch
Various Blue Samco hoses
APS 3" down pipe
Megan Racing turbo elbow
HKS Racing Suction kit with the green filter (OEM Airbox supplied)
3" Blitz Nur Spec cat back
HKS High Flow Race CAT
NeverNeverman 3" Adjustable de cat pipe
R Spec 3 port boost solenoid
OEM metal MR BOV
ECU Flash - Geekmapped by AndyF_RSX to 400/400

Footworks:

Performance Friction 2 piece front discs
Carbotech XP10 front pads
Freshly painted OEM Speedline 17" wheels with no marks wrapped in almost new Federal 595 RS-R semi slick tyres
BILS Remote reservoir Group N Spec dampers.

Exterior

All the usual IX FQ carbon fiber, (front splitter NEW), vortex generator and exhaust surround
EPR electric carbon fire mirrors
Red domed FQ-400 decals
Carbon fiber domed rear boot badges
3M carbon wrapped front Mitsubishi grill badge
Xenonshop LED reverse lights and LED number plate lights

Interior:

3M carbon wrapped window switches
3M carbon wrapped gear surround
Half leather Recaro / alacantra seats (since 10,000 miles they have been under the MLR seat covers so are in perfect condition with no scuffs, tears, pulls or cracks.
Alpine IDA-X305s IPOD/IPhone compatible head unit with removable face.
Alpine KCE-400BT Parrot Bluetooth module that works in conjunction for the IPhone 4 for seamless hands free calling.
Tracker fitted with Mitsubishi Cat 1 alarm and immob.
Ralliart interior mat set.

Anyway, thats my intro over.

James

Yes, the BMW is a lovely car now it's been mapped but some of the other cars were awesome!

I'm actually out in the Evo at the moment as I still have it until all funds have cleared and I have to say as I've not driven it since buying the BMW 2 weeks ago, it's so much more direct than but everytime I nail it I just see £ signs and my fuel needle moving closer and closer to game over

Hi everybody,

Another newbie to this Forum, done a few searches on here and looks a very informative place and a friendly place too.

On my second e9x now. Had an e92 325i until December last but then my dad in laws car came up for sale as he was buying a new car. So sold the 325i and bought the 330d e90 msport off my dad in law. It's just turned 6 years old, had 16k miles on it and had never seen rain. I drive 90 miles round trip to work each day so it made sense to take the diesel option plus it's specced very well and the pedigree of the car seemed like a no brainer

Cheers

Richard

Sorry, forgot to mention that I've also got a relatively healthy obsession with mk3 Ford Escorts.

The only stored picture I have of my e92 is shown below, you can just make it out if you look closely

Here's a better photo of one of the Escorts:

As soon as I get some photos of the e90 I will post some up.

Hi

Thought I would say hello. I just put down a deposit on a 07 low mileage 335i and can't wait to pick it up some time this week.

I came from a RX8 with a turbo and alot of modification so I guess you really do go back.

Anyway looking forward to learning and participating here. Let's hope my only questions and worries are what mods to add next.

Cheers

Nick

Hi folks, I've been looking through this forum for a week or so now and it's great to see everyone getting involved and the knowledge and passion that is shared is brilliant.

I have just signed the docs on a low mileage 58 330i in Le Mans Blue with black leather and bluetooth. Just waiting on the DVLA transfering my vanity plate and I'll be good to go. It'll be my 3rd BMW, having owned a 93 5 series and an 89 3 series in the past before taking leave of my senses and buying things like a 3.2 Sovereign and a 5.3 Daimler Double Six. The 330i replaces my Audi A6 3.2 that I have had for 15 months.

Looking forward to contributing where I can !

(will load up pics once I work out how to do it from my iphone)

Scott.

Nick! That looks great!

I started with my Angel eyes (Alpine HID angel eyes), Front grill (BMW Performance gloss black), and tinting the windows made a large difference to the cosmetics.

Sorry to be a newbie, but is mine an LCI version? and someone also mentioned having a 335d m sport with cream leather is pretty rare? Just curious and yeah I have been looking at these angel eye led upgrade kit's, are they worth the £60?
