Anybody having problems with bosch wheel speed sensor?

Have been trouble shooting a bad wheel sensor.
Finally determined sensor was bad ordered $50 bosch sensor , instead of $150 bmw sensor. From what I was able to tell both are made by bosch. Fault came back again. When I datalog, the wheel sensor I could see the new sensor would drop to zero every so often. So I swapped sides on sensors, faults went away. 3 days all good till I backed up further than usual, faults came back this time opposite side. Did datalog, now sensor drops out occasionally in reverse. Seems new sensor works fine in one direction not in other. Has anyone else had trouble with bosch?, trying to determine if I just got a random bad one or if I need to buy bmw part instead of bosch.
