What? There's a black 6MT e91 for 2,500 on CL? Where?

My new project is a clean title sparkling graphite (with a working sunroof lol)...kinda got buyers remorse now lol. Why did you have to mention that steal of a price? I just checked the e91 FS thread and I saw another alpine white 6MT one for 4100. SMH.

Never fails. Whenever i'm looking for an e91 6MT, either no one is selling or they're asking crackhead prices for it.

My e91 is heavily optioned. like everything, ad I still don't have all the things that my brother's e60/61's have. I'd very much like the power tilt wheel.

edit:
I also don't think that the e61 is THAT much heavier than the e91.
aluminum body bits made it to the 5'er first.
maybe a 200lbs difference?
it's not a lot when you consider that turbo power.

Damn I didn't know they were that much bigger. Then again I've only owned an e93 and also drove an e66 for a year or so.

Removing the headliner is a real PITA. The materials are delicate, there's a long list of trim to remove before gaining access (I think I remember actually needing to remove floor trim, then move up, before gaining access to the headliner), and an error will likely be visible.

Not saying it can't be done - it most certainly can. Just calibrate expectations, and double your patience allowance before beginning.
Of course the headliner is going to be a PITA, still need to pull mine for anthracite replacement.

i'd say the e61 was maybe two feet longer than my e91.
probably a touch less. 20 inches for sure

As one would expect, the cars are similar (being wagons), but their personalities differ. I agree the 5-series long roof doesn't offer any more than a marginal increase in luggage volume. On the other hand, the character of the car is tilted more to luxury and less to sporty. The car feels heavier, more stable, and quieter, compared with the 3-er.

Know thyself. I liked the idea of my wife in an E61. She doesn't share my enthusiast tendencies, so safety and comfort are good matches for her usage. For me? I prefer a nimble, lightweight and compact alternative, with a sporty personality beneath sleeper body work.

As with many choices, this isn't one of better or worse, rather which vehicle is a better fit for one's circumstances.
I appreciate this. Makes sense and I am still between wanting sporty/nimble and luxury/quiet. An E91 still seems more my style as of now. The hardest part for me is giving up the N54 fun. I owned an E36 328i and enjoyed it but that was before owning the 335. Don't know if I can go back but I plan on test driving both E91s and E61s to see how they feel. Thank you for your insight and experience.

Yes please are you selling? I just don't know if I have the patience to get a N54 swap competed. What is the estimated cost to have this done? Not worth it? :

Oops maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it. It was salvage title anyways. Would've been great for a front end conversion though. It had mismatched headlights and the bumper was basically falling off. Sunroof was faulty and a couple fault codes. I didn't get my Schwaben tool in time to properly diagnose. It sold day of or day before thanksgiving since seller stopped replying to me. I almost bought it just for parts.. probably should have. Oh well..

That magnesium and aluminum engine can't handle that. I like the N52 just the way she is. Stop material shaming!!

Temporary tires...smaller tires came with the wheels and I’m gonna use them up before I take them apart to refinish the faces and lips then get some meaty tires.

Are you in the South Bay Area? I saw a red e91 conversion driving around there a few months back. Only other conversion I've seen in person besides mine.

No I’m not from the South Bay Area, but I do play in a basketball league in the South Bay, I sometimes venture out there once in a while and a few months ago sounds about right lol...

Anyhow, I wet sanded, cut and buffed the clear coat today:

All done by hand just to test it out, came out pretty clean, but I’ll have to wet sand some more and cut and buff it to a mirror shine.

EDIT: WTH? LOL, I just realized that the pic prior was upside down. It wasn't upside down on mobile and on my phone. Wonder how that happened lol.
