Speed Traps

I drive to the Delaware shore most weekends from the Silver Spring area of MD. With warm weather it seems that the police are setting up more a nd more speed traps. Some that you might watch for. Rte. 50 on the stretch from the exit to 450 and the Severn bridge. Denton on 404 (40 mph means 40). Dagsboro, Dagsboro and more Dagsboro. Bethany Beach, I've heard of people getting tickets for 34 in a 30mph zone. Be careful.

Also -- on the Virginia side on the way to WVa the scenic Rte 9 drive should be watched carefully...saw 3 speed traps last weekend.

is there a database of the location of all these speed cams?
There is a mod for the nav to add them.

you dont have to travel very far in FFx County, they are just all over the place. In fact they already know me, and sometimes they wave HI!

Yeah Fairfax is the devil. Coppers everywhere, I saw a soccer mom get pulled over in her white Dodge Caravan with the kids in the back for doing like 10mph over...

Most of the "traps" on the way to MD and Del shore are trooper laying in wait for the unsuspecting, the revenue of every small town goes up between May and Sept through the use of radar

I have noticed that in some of these spots there still aren't any cameras installed, but be aware that they will and are using unmarked cars with cameras inside parked on the side instead of the comon planted big green camera boxes.

Also saw under FAQ's -

"What are the fines for violation?
The fine for each violation is $40. No points will be assigned to a driving record for conviction."

That doesn't sound as bad as I thought they'd be. I never really gave the cameras much thought since they aren't in my area atm. $40 fine with no points...could be worse.

Also, they will be triggered when you're 11 mph over the limit.
Others have mentioned 5 mph over the limit.

I'm working on adding speed traps as POIs in the nav dvd.
I already added the red light cameras.
