HiFi Alpine Retro Kit

So I've got a 2011 E90 335i with the basest of base stereo models. It's horrific. I've been lurking for a while and it seems like the most OEM, PnP option would be the HiFi Alpine Retro kit with the new window trim pieces with the speaker cut outs. Figured I could DIY all of that and have someone (or my local BMW dealer) code my CIC for the different stereo option.

Is there a cheaper, better alternative for quality sound? I don't need ridiculous bass or anything crazy, I just want crisp sounds, with a good sound stage, and decent bass.

The thing is its not much of an improvement.
If you want good sound its going to cost some bucks.

I did the Alpine HiFi kit on my E90. I haven’t coded it yet but need to. I also changed out the under seat subs with oem ones from the logic7 setup (found the pair on eBay).

Sound improvement is well worth it. Could I have saved money with aftermarket and gotten more? Sure but I wanted OEM.

I just upgraded to the Bavsound Stage 1. Very crisp. Next I plan to upgrade the under seat speakers and add tweeters to the A pillars.
