Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor? Yellow Brake Light

Ok I have had this brake light on forever and my cruise doesn't work.

There's a code that says my Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor is not working (or something like that)

I've looked this up, part seems expensive new but affordable on ebay.

I'd like to replace it, does anyone know how to replace it? There are no DIYs, and no diagrams showing exactly where it is. I've just always heard "under the seat"

Here is info that might help. I haven't needed to replace one before, hopefully you can get to it by removing the seat bolts, and tilting the seat either forward or backwards, and not have to remove the entire seat from the car.

Here is a video showing it being replaced. The sensor is not only the acceleration sensor, it's also for yaw. There is much more information on replacing the 'yaw sensor'.

just seeing these replies now .. i posted under the wrong account!

Wow much more than i thought i was going to get. I can't believe where this thing is placed! WTF..

How does it even go bad? I feel like i must have done something wrong for it to just stop working.

Is this common to go bad?

Also is this the part number? 66316775949
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...49%09&_sacat=0

If i buy used will they go bad again?

I've had the car this way for like 3 years ... it doesn't really bother me but I would rather have it "perfect"

Replying to an old thread on the off chance you still have the car. Did you ever get this resolved?

I also have the 5E34 code. I developed it after replacing the DSC module. I had the "trifecta" or "Christmas tree" lights and replacing the DSC corrected those, at least with the exception of the yellow "BRAKE" light. The 5E34 code and the light are the only issues. ABS seems to work fine. I don;t use cruise, so not positive if that's not working.

I think that replacing the DSC module from a newer car is what's triggering this, not the longitudinal sensor itself. Did you by any chance have any work done on your brakes before you got the error?
