Investment Ideas

Hey All, I'm about to buy a house for airbnb. According to the airbnb manager it would make around 13 to 16% profit each year. What other good investment do you guys have?

That is a pretty tight return estimate. Ask them if they will forego payment if your return is negative since their low estimate is in the double digits.

More seriously, do some estimates, asking around, and math for yourself. Make sure you can support the house without help for at least a few months... otherwise it is a lot of risk.

I would also make sure your city is not one of the ones looking to add an additional tax on houses that are not occupied by the owner, as that could take a lot of return away as well.

2. cryptocurrency
3. stocks (I personally like ones that pay dividends)
4. investing into property (not owning, just helping fund projects)

I have heard good things about vending machines and want to look into this

Invest into yourself by learning new skills. Asking someone what should you be investing into tells me you don't know what you want in life in general (no goals).

TBH, not sure about your situation and what other investments you already have. Invest into yourself always pays off in the long run and most people don't realize that.

Look into supplying stores with and also filling ATM machines. Can be a VERY lucrative business. Not too much capital needed to get it going.

I question how accurate any investment is where the details are hard to track/estimate and the person giving the estimate also benefits from you investing.

I also think this will be a part time job and with it hopefully it should come with better returns compared to the stock that you don't have to anything with.

Ugh! I’m not trying to crap on the OP but AirBNBs are the worst. I know people are making money and all that and could be good business but they really screw up communities and neighborhoods. At least here in Florida it has made things worse. Luckily I sit on the board and do not allow them.

Again, not trying to be judgmental. We all do what we feel is right for us but if I did go the property route I would do it the old fashion way.

m1finance - build your own fund.

dont do bitcoin. ive done it. i still hold bitcoin, but it is so volatile and pricing is emotionally driven. it'd be one thing to have a little on the side but nothing but reckless to rely on it as a major money maker. i'm up with it but its got major problems as a serious long term investment...

Vanguard has some of the lowest management fees going and they have great investment support.

It has been said on other threads on Bimmerpost but there is no better method than time...compounding interest over time will win out. I have rental property and other investments that do provide positive cash flow but the one constant is balanced market portfolio and growth over time. Yes there will always be outliers that won the lottery or timed the market just right but they are few and far between.

Vanguards index 500 or admiral fund would be where I would start personally.
