Hi
Probably been done to death but does anyone know definatley the oils required for the engine, gearbox and the diff in my car? and the amounts. 2008 325i 3.0? I'm pulling my hair out! |

Engine 6.5l I’m using: Millers CFS 10W60
Gearbox 1.5l Millers CRX 75W90 Diff 1.3l Millers LSD 90

You'll probably get a different answer from everyone who responds. For the engine any fully synthetic marked as BMW LL04 compliant will be fine. For the gearbox and diff there are loads of options. Opie Oils website is a good starting point...

go to the 540rat blogpost look it up and find yourself a high film strength motor oil. if you have q zf 6 speed automatic use only zf lifeguard 6 fluid. if you got a manual then bmw 75w90. got a gm 6l45 use valvoline maxlife. differential just use bmw fluid. one bottle is enough

Don't put GEAR oil in your transmission. Gear oils are for diffs and don't come with synchro additives to save your synchro. Get MTF branded stuff. ACDelco 10-4055 is one I'd use for cold conditions.
