N52K LCI 2011 stock No DISA Engine Pulsating

Most noticable when I start the car up. The engine will pulse and the whole car will shake mildly left to right.
If I give it gas the RPM goes up smoothly but the pulse will come in when it comes it. It's not rapid, comes in like every other few seconds.
I have no engine codes.
63k miles but it was there since I got the car at 59k miles.
Passenger engine mount replaced with Lemforder filled with polyurethane. Driver side it still good original.
Car is manual and clutch grabs well.
Spark plugs replaced a year ago or less.
MAFS cleaned properly since I got it at 59k.
Power delivery and normal driving has no issue.
I can't figure out where this pulse is from. Can't be injectors because it doesn't do it every engine rev.

bad coil. Not bad enough to trigger CEL, but failing enough for you to feel it.

How do I know which coil is bad? They are not that cheap to replace all. Which OE coil is the most recent update? I heard of recalls. But my Vin doesn't seem to show much for recalls

You can try to force it to by driving up a hill in tall gear (flooring it in 4th from 1000 rpm). Sometimes it works.

You can try replacing one coil ~$20 and moving it around until misfire goes away. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ch-12138616153

So far I don't have any lack of power moving. The thing is heavy and it still goes.
In addition to the cost. The labor and time to take off the stuff on top of the coil is stopping me. I was told Sparks were replaced last year based on maintenance history.
If I have to do these I want to get the valve cover gasket even though they are still OK at 63k miles.

You wouldn't necessarily feel lack of power with failing coil.

Once you remove plastics - AC air filter, and engine cover, there is nothing else blocking access to coils. They are fairly easily accessible. To do the test that I recommended, you could just leave all plastics off, so you can swap out coils on the fly - 10sec.

Coil can still fail even with new plugs. BMW recommends replacing plugs at 100k miles. If someone replaced plugs at 60k, then that tells you that they tried to solve the issue you are having.

Why? Colis have nothing to do with valve cover.

Dude, just open your damn hood.

However, based on your responses, it does seem you just wanted to vent and are not interested in actually resolving the issues. So, good luck with that.

Talk to the parts I just ordered. They aren't cheap, so is my time to open up stuff.
Valve cover is getting replaced. Last N52K I had leak on that causing a lot of issues including stalls.

You don't know how much I spent and how many hours I already put on this wagon since I got it 3000 miles ago

Coils are less than $20ea on Rockauto for OEM units. Don't pay any more than that!

Too late ECS Tuning sent me Delphi for $24 ea. It was $33 ea. But when I refreshed the next day it became $24.
Getting NGK plugs with steep discount from AutoZone. I got Felpro for valve cover gasket. Not going to pay three times for BMW brand that leaks anyway. Replacing the motor and sensor gasket for valve tronic

Your valvetronic motor or sender is probably not causing any misfires. Think of it as a throttle plate and the DME is very sensitive to faults. The sensor is actually two sensors in one housing, if they don't agree with each other the DME shuts down the Valvetronic and reverts to the throttle plate.

Before throwing any parts at this, I'd use INPA diagnostic tools to locate the problem. If you don't have time, hire someone that has the tools and knowledge to fix it.

From your symptoms, the cause could be anything from a bad coil, leaking PCV hoses, bad MAF sensor to simply blown cylinder or anything in between.

The computers in these cars are really great, learn how to use them.

I don't have valve tronic errors. Car runs fine on throttle and acceleration.

Autozone FedEx never came in, said it was delivered. Had to ask for refund and remake orders.
Some lazy FedEx driver around here also did that to my business credit card.

So Autozone first order came in today, along with second order.

What other parts should o replace? I hear about some hose or something from the crank.
Was it just for early silver top N52 engines?

Is it just immediately after warm start-up, and then clears up after a few seconds?

UPDATE: no more shakes

Well, car is not shaking on park or stop lights anymore and idles smooth. Car was delivered from Cali with a full tank, filled it up with high octane and it smoothed out the idle significantly. Prolly got filled with junk gas before delivery. didn't think it could be just bad gas. (fart..)
