Hmmm... sounds good... but you don't even know my mods yet! LOL But you'll probably win - I'm thinking I'm barely going to crack into the 12s whereas you're probably what, 12.6?

I was going to guess medical grade laughing gas (from your name). The dealer wouldn't smell the sulfer. :-) or you have the intake and DR's everyone seems to be getting. That is still darn fast for a normally aspirated car.

We should be close since my car will probably still just turn a 12.9 - which I'm happy with since I'm not into drag racing.

Im a betting man. You beat chitowns 335 and I'm about 250 pounds heavier. Dont need to know your mods. You will need nos LOL. Not much to do to a lexus anyway. Its way more luxury then sport. I'll put some cash on the race.

Nah, I'm not gonna put any money on it - Just looked up chitown335 at dragtimes and he did a 12.8 only on 1.47. Now he's got 2.02 and downpipes... he's probably mid 12's and maybe low 12's with race gas. No way I'm putting money against him - plus he's got DRs. I'm a betting man... but only when the odds are in my favor. Plus, I'm rolling on street tires and 19 inch rims now.

Yeah, but you're AWD and don't need DRs! I'm thinking with AWD and over 400 at crank, you should be doing 1.6 1.7 60' with even street tires.

I know some of you guys are running some tunes - will you guys be using 100 octane or regular 93? I don't think I can compete with the race gas tunes, but I'm thinking I might give the 93 octane tunes a good run.

What kind of things have you done to your IS?

I see people with different air intakes and dropping some weight being very close to my times (on dragtimes)... Though I'm in a 335xi sedan with nothing but a turbo tuner, 93 octane, and all my extra weight. I may even leave the baby seat in since I'm not out for a number.

Just being in the low 13's in a normally asperated sedan gets props from me.

LOL... wait and see... I hope the weather is NICE and the DA is low otherwise you turbo guys will have too much of an advantage.

Well, maybe I should amend my previous comment about 93 octane tunes... 93 octane tunes w/o DRs and downpipes. There... now that would be a better race.

BUT, I still might surprise you guys... Like I said, you still don't know my mods.

BTW, what's the best 93 octane gas? I usually get the cheap Citgo but I hear that Shell is better. Do you guys notice any difference?

Bad news.... Spoke with the owner of the track. Track is obviously under water and their draining system has failed. They should still be open but its defintily going to be messed up. We should consider switching to Byron Dragstrip. More VHT, nicer track, more runs. Its not free though like GLD will be opening weekend. GLD will also be insanely packed.... What do you guys want to do....

Im game for Byron.

The cruise down to Byron is also a blast. No highway but all very straight streets, its basically in the middle of no where! lol

There is also Route 66 in Joiet. I haven't been to Byron in 10+ years but I remember it being pretty shabby.

On the other hand, I have never been to Route 66 so I'm not sure what that's like.

you will not get hardly any runs in at route 66. Byron uses the most vht and is the best of the three. IMHO. I pretty much live at gld and Byron on the weekends. LOL

I'll be going to great lakes dragaway. The weather should be fine its still 3 weeks away. If you start changeing plans now its going to screw things up. Stay with the same plan and we can see whats up.

I'd rather go to Great Lakes myself - I'm a married man with a 3 year old son and possibly pregnant wife - I can't spend the whole day driving. I need to go to Great Lakes (closest to me), get a couple of runs in, and bug outta there so I can spend some quality time with family.

I'm starting to think I might have to think about investing in some good drag radials. Anybody have any opinions on 19" drag tires?

Good. Im really looking forward to meeting some of you guys and just crusing down to great lakes. I think it will be a blast with all the cars just following each other, I'll probably just do some pulls if the traffic allows for it. LOL
