Heater Core Question
Have a 2006 E91 with a leaking heater core. Sticker behind the radio shows a Valeo HVAC system, however when I look at the actual heater core through the driver side footwell it says its a Denso. Before I pull this all apart, I wanted to get the replacement core, but don't know if I should get the Valeo or Denso one. Is it normal to see two different types like this?

Could it be that the HVAC unit was made by Valeo, using various parts, including the Denso heater core?
I personally would go with the sticker on the heater core itself -- Denso. Does Denso fail more often than Valeo? Also the evaporator is known to fail right? |

I know that this an old thread but I thought I might get some useful information. I have a leaking heater core. It seems that it is possible to replace it by removing the steering column and sliding out the core. Since you were able to see the core from the drivers footwell, can you please tell me what you removed to get there and if you did replace it without removing the dash.
