Initial X5 tuned impressions - With Video :D

the X5 forum is so dead its better to post here being the same engine ... I got the JR custom, he said its between 2 & 2.5 to ensure reliability - buzzken catted exhaust - Intake racepipe install (egr valve delete)

Impressions: Immediately started seeing 600 miles on a tank - I used to average 470 religiously. Spool is heard on the exhaust tipe now (my wife hates it but I love that whistle lol) - Power is great over 60 mph, under 60 is better than stock ... Also I noticed outside temp affects the performance quite a bit, last night was 70 and car was flying (120 easy kept going), over 90 F its sluggish comparitively, still better than stock .. the FMIC is needed I know ..

thats the story of my beautiful life now!

oh and, I took photos of intake it has a 2 mm layer of carbon

I'll try to upload the video or pics if this website cooperates

bottom line shout out to all that made it possible !! GreekboyD was very helpful in directing me to the right shop etc, D comunity rocks!

Congrats!! Sounds like a beast. You are spot on regarding temps. This platform feels heavy when temps and humidity are high. Part of it I'm sure is the AC load.

I have been debating whether or not an upgraded IC is needed. I'm surprised to hear that you are seeing effects with "normal" (not on the racetrack) driving when the temperature increases.

Now that my 335D is gone, I have been thinking about doing the same to my X5D...since I intend on keeping it for a while.

How many miles on the vehicle? Also, who did the work?

You're local, can I have a ride?!?!?!

My woman doesn't seem to mind but she did comment that the sound is more noticeable now with custom exhaust compared to DPF delete with OEM exhaust. I say it sounds like a baby Cummins when going slow in the neighborhood.

we my wife and I went to bimmerfest east, first she said my car rides like shit, and when we got there her leg swiped the back bumper and she went nuts. But she didn't complain when I was whooping ass on the 1320...

Also got trans oil flushed, differential & transfer case as well - fluids were clean as cocktail, but the car does shift little more smoother .. we're all OCDs haha
