CALI PEOPLE: Should I go FBO?

Well I've had this e92 335 for about a year now and I was wondering if I should just say f*ck it and go FBO. All it has is pretty much a catback and a tune. I just don't know since cops in SoCal have been becoming some real dickheads and don't know if I should just save myself from the hassle and just leave it as it is.

Yes go fbo. I went fbo in a few months after getting my car and i haven't had any issues with cops yet. Going on over 4 years with it being FBO and i have the mhd burble tune. Where in cali are you located? Some cities might be more strict. Heard OC cops are tough. I'm in LB.

If you are capable of doing the downpipes yourself and you're okay with swapping the cats in every 2 years then go for it.
For smog visual inspection upgraded FMIC is okay. Just swap back stock intake and downpipe. IF your charge pipe is flashy probably swap that back too.

If you work on/maintain your own car then why not. But if you can't then it's up to you if you want to spend the money every 2 years to take everything back to stock or find someone to smog it.

Ahhh and mine is sitting on a soft burble tune and I've had no issues with cops. I'm out in the Murrieta area and we recently had a street team. Luckily a cat-back isn't that loud lol. I was planning to go FBO but then the street team happened and now I'm just skeptical.

Downpipes were definitely a pain. I helped a buddy of mine go FBO and the downpipes were the longest lol. Had so much trouble with the v-band

I do work on/maintain my own car and that's the thing. Do I really want to do that every two years? Lol.

It takes me like 2 hours at most to swap down pipes and stock air box back in, not too big of a deal IMO for every day FBO fun.
