Beautiful car, hopefully she goes to an enthusiast who will take the same care you have... Good luck in your future wagon (we all know you'll be back! )

I wish there was more information on what's wrong with it. Even with the mileage and all the little bumps and bruises, a 6MT RWD LCI car that's reasonably clean shouldn't be mechanically totaled. A junkyard drivetrain is a few grand, and a couple weekends should have it in.
You think a N52 with a 6mt, that is not also shelled out, is going to be an easy salvage find? It is going to take a lot more than a "weekend" to figure out what is wrong, find everything tofu everything that is wrong, buy that list of salvage components, pick it up / ship it, sort it out, install.

Buy the car listed by crimpwimp above, and you'd be waaaaay ahead.

This ended up going out of the country so I assume no one here bought it.

Odd car. Clean carfax, an interior worth...2k?, and no obvious damage. Little too much for me but I think there is a 50/50 chance nothing was wrong with the car at all.

so what did it sell for? Please not 2k as I paid more than that for my wrecked copart wagon.

Yes there are out of country bidders on copart but there are a lot of VPN's used for bidding too so maybe it stays here.

I sold my N52 engine and trans for $650 working perfectly so even if it need an engine they're so common and cheap to get.

My gmail is smaldakka

Thanks in advanced.

There is a member who has done a N54 manual swap into a wagon and is going to list it soon I understand.
Hmmm any more info on this?

Yes I would love to have seen if Timothi put his wagon on Cars and bids how it would do. I assume with moving cross country that it would be difficult to fit it all in time wise. It's Essentially the EXACT same build as mine. The diesel wagon swap got huge money on BaT, but there was huge money invested also.

There is always a price, especially among the owners here.

Somewhat nearby Chicago, in MN. I have a 2011 X-drive 6MT in Deep Sea Blue Metallic over Saddle Brown, ~130K (only seen 3yrs of winter).

+1 There is always a price for all of us to sell. Just unfortunate our requested prices are probably too high for the average consumer.

It seems the average consumer is unaware of the scarcity of 10+ year old manual wagons in good condition, along with the hefty deferred service bill waiting on the cheaper end of the spectrum.

PSA - If you intend to DIY to save a penny, go through the trouble of finding a RWD car. Makes a few of the big ticket items easier.

PSA- Because RWD e91s tend to go for even more money, if you live someplace with actual winter conditions, get an AWD car and just budget for CVs and oil pan gasket.

My '07 AWD M/T had 175k when it was totaled. Still had the original oil pan seal (which "seeped" starting at 101k), original thermostat and water pump, original CVs, original clutch... It surprised me how little maintenance it ever actually needed. The original battery went 11 years.
Didn't even need a suspension refresh until 155k or so.

The '09 AWD A/T I drive now with 105k has all those original parts too.
Both winter-driven e91s
