E90 320d questions

Hi,

Purchased my first BMW, not picking it up until next week as they are going to service and MOT it. It's a 2011 320d, the car is coming with a 6 month parts and labour warranty, is there anything I should be looking at once I collect it? It drove nice on the test drive and was no sounds I wasn't expecting from a diesel (the car I currently have is a 2010 MK6 Golf GT TDI 138hp). This is the spec I found from the VIN so I know it won't have Comfort Access, can anyone tell me from this list what available audio options I will have (Bluetooth streaming, MP3 USB input or CD only etc), and if there are any cool features or any that it's missing that are easy to add etc.

Timing chains. In the early stages they sound like someone lightly shaking a maraca at about 1500-2000rpm. Quite faint, so you have to get your ear in.

Looks like it has CIC nav and Combox so you'll have a USB port, Aux port, Bluetooth streaming and the ability to import music onto the internal HDD.

I'd assume the speakers are the basic option as I didn't see any options for that.

Thanks for that. What are the basic speakers like?

What does the prep in "633 Prep.mob. Ph. Business Bluet.interf." mean?

Means the car has bluetooth and it'll sync contacs, pretty standard I think.

Basic speakers are OK, probably not as good as they should be but not awful. You can improve them quite a bit by fitting the door tweeters. Do a search and you'll find plenty of guides on here.

If it has a slot beneath the radio for a DVD, just shove a DVD in there and it will play it, as long as you're u are stationary. You can code it to play when the car is moving.

They are honestly terrible... i think it must have been a way to make people pay for the better sound systems. I replaced my woofers with some pioneer two way woofers (basically means you get the woofer and a tweeter on the top in one).

You can go down the route of finding the original BMW speakers but honestly, if you just want a slight upgrade i'd go with pioneer which run off the headunit so you don't need to spend money on an amp etc.

There are many routes you can go down for the sound system tbf so it's up to you and what you want from it

Tbh through Bluetooth it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, no idea what speakers are in it but I imagine still stick. Is there an easy way to add subwoofers to the standard setup?

the subwoofers are located under the seats, in the floor. they're not bad. but also your choices are limited for upgrades. Also generally, upgrading subwoofers means you do need a decent amp that can provide enough power

Don't think I have those, at least it doesn't sound like anything is under the seat

try adjusting the bass setting on the radio/idrive whatever you have

it's possible that they are broken though...

I think he means the front seats. Have a look under them and you'll see the speaker grilles for the subs.
Unless your asking about folding rear seats, which was an option that most don't have.
I personally don't think the standard speakers are that bad, especially when compared to other marques I've owned over the years.

Hi I'm new here,
I have an E90 320D it's recently come up with the famous 5E20 pressure sensor 1 Electrical fault (ethos+). I have access to a replacement hydraulic unit once replaced I know I need INPA to bleed the system I'll only use it once not into coding just interested in bleeding the pump and clearing the fault before the MOT can someone point me in the direction of acquiring a copy of the INPA software and recommend a K+dcan cable compatible with win 10?
