325d calliper rebuild help?
E91 325d 2008 msport auto. Hi does anyone have any bright ideas on how to get the piston boots which sits on the outside of the caliper flush and in position onto the caliper. I managed to do the rears by putting pressure in different angles with a bunch of different screwdrivers and managed to get it to sit flush and it held nicely but the fronts I can’t seem to get it to sit nicely on the flat face on the caliper. It just pops off every time I try to push at different angles. Has anyone done this before have a good idea or know what tool to use? Thanks.

Should just go on the same way as rears. My only suggestion is to try using a big socket or something similar that will push down evenly across the perimeter of the seal

Got there in the end. Ended up using a 68mm gutter downpipe from screwfix and cutting the 68mm
end off (https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-...E&gclsrc=aw.ds). Then with a bit of wood and a g clamp press it in. Not sure why the fronts were so much harder. |
